The popular television actress, Shraddha Arya is one of the few celebrities in the entertainment industry, who never shies away from sharing their opinions in public. Whether it's about giving a befitting reply to trolls for body shaming her to sending haters back into their caves, Shraddha never entertains people, who try to disrupt her mental peace. Recently, the gorgeous actress criticised the spiritual leader, Dalai Lama, after a video of him telling a boy to suck his tongue went viral on the internet.

As soon as Shraddha Arya watched the video, she took to her Instagram handle and criticised Dalai Lama for misbehaving with the little boy. The actress not only condemned the spiritual leader but also advised people to raise their voices against such incidents of child abuse. However, soon Shraddha started receiving a lot of hateful comments.

The people started trolling the actress for using harsh words and crossing the line in the moment of heat. While in the beginning, Shraddha Arya didn’t understand it, but soon she realised that some of the words that she used against Dalai Lama were too offensive. After this, she immediately deleted her post and apologised for the same.

Shraddha Arya apologised for lashing out at Dalai Lama for telling a child to 'suck his tongue'

On April 12, 2023, Shraddha Arya took to her Instagram story and penned a long note in which she apologised to the people, whose sentiments got hurt by the words that she chose to criticise Dalai Lama. In her heartfelt note, Shraddha admitted that she has realised that some of the words that she penned were quite hurtful and harsh for some people. However, she clearly stated that she has nothing to do with people and their religious practices. Further, in her note, Shraddha urged people to raise their voices whenever they suspect or witness child abuse around them. An excerpt from her note can be read as:

"Apologies. If my choice of words used to criticise the incident were too harsh. Sadly, India is infested with child abuse and its already very heart breaking."

Dalai Lama's 'suck my tongue' controversy

For the unversed, during an interaction between the spiritual leader, Dalai Lama and his devotees on February 28, 2023, a total of 100 school students were present at the event. As per a report in The Guardian, during the event, when one of the students went to greet and take blessings from Dalai Lama, the 87-year-old spiritual leader kissed the young boy on the lips. Also, while the boy looked completely uncomfortable, Dalai Lama pulled the student towards him for another hug.

However, what shocked everyone was when Dalai Lama pulled the student towards himself, and while kissing him on his forehead, he told the young boy to suck his tongue. During the whole incident, Dalai Lama could be spotted smiling, while the young kid looked afraid while standing in front of the spiritual leader after he told him to suck his tongue. As soon as the video of the incident went viral on the internet, netizens were quick to criticise Dalai Lama for his actions.
