Pratyusha Banerjee who rose to fame as Anandi in the famous daily soap 'Balika Vadhu' was found dead at her suburban residence in Goregaon. The 24-year-old actress took her last breath in Kokilaben Hospital on April 1, 2016.
Reports claimed that the actress was in an unhappy relationship with her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.

Speculation was rife that Pratyusha Banerjee was two months pregnant with her boyfriend's child at the time of her death (REPORT: DNA).
This was, however, scotched by the investigating officer, who said they have not received any report by the doctors which suggest that the actress was pregnant. "She wasn't pregnant because the doctors have not informed the police verbally or in writing about it. Her viscera report which will come in a month will give a proper analysis. If there is any pregnancy indication in that report, then we will ask Rahul and her friends about it," an investigating officer said. (PTI)

A lot of actors from the telly world rushed to Kokilaben hospital as soon as they got to know about this unfortunate event. Well, the real reason behind why Pratyusha took such a big step can be known after the investigation only, but there are two friends of the actress, Dolly Bindra and Rakhi Sawant, who have given some statements regarding the same to the media.
Bindra told Times of India:
I saw her body. She had applied sindoor.

I went to the hospital with Dolly Bindra. I was shocked to look at Pratyusha’s face. There was sindoor smeared on the parting of her hairs. There were some scars on her neck and had black lips… It is distressing to know that her boyfriend has taken away her mobile. I am afraid he will delete all the data from it. He was seen having chips at such a critical moment, I don’t understand what is he up to.
As per various reports, Rahul and Pratyusha were expected to take their relationship to next level. Reports also state that Pratyusha had started with the wedding preparations so much so, that she even had her bridal outfit ordered. And as soon as she got to know about Rahul Raj Singh's engagement to someone else, she was shattered. In a recent report in The Telegraph, a police source has been quoted to be saying:
Pratyusha had placed an order for her wedding lehenga with designer Rohit Verma recently. Knowing Rahul Raj Singh had got engaged to someone else seems to have been the last straw. She had a massive row with Rahul.
Pratyusha's close friend and fashion designer Rohit, has confirmed the news.
