She was not only known as a TikToker but also for her entrepreneurial journey that helped the unhoused community across the US. Her sudden demise left people wondering what could be the reason for the same.
Taking to their social media handle, Beauty 2 The Streetz announced the heartbreaking news of Shirley Raines' demise. To mention, no official announcement about the reason for her death has been disclosed. In the post, it was announced how heartbreaking it is for the team and communities that were helped by Shirley Raines's advocacy, compassion and deep commitments.

Shirley Raines's team further revealed that the work that Ms Shirley started would be continued, while adding how the 58-year-old dedicated her life to helping others while using her social platforms to help those in need. Shirley's passing surely borrows a grief to every individual whose life she touched. Her team further asked people to keep Shirley's family in prayers, with a promise to reveal more details, if available. An excerpt from the post could be read as:
"Ms. Shirley dedicated her life to serving others and made an immeasurable impact on homeless communities throughout Los Angeles and Nevada. Through her tireless advocacy, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment, she used her powerful media platform to amplify the voices of those in need and to bring dignity, resources, and hope to some of the most underserved populations.This loss is devastating to the entire Beauty 2 The Streetz team, the communities we serve, and the countless individuals whose lives were forever changed by Ms. Shirley’s love, generosity, and selfless service. Her legacy will continue to live on through the work she started and the hearts she touched."

Shirley was a mother of six, and as per a recent report by PEOPLE, it was her younger daughter who called the police on January 27, 2026, after she tried to throughout the day to connect with her mother. Shirley's younger daughter even reached her home and waited for hours, only to get no response, even though she threw stones at the window. Later, the daughter called the police for a wellness check, and it was found that she was lying unresponsive. Reportedly, no visible sign could be found that could determine what caused her death, leaving everyone in shock.

Shirley Raines, a TikToker, and the CEO and founder of Beauty 2 The Streetz, was born in Compton, California. She was working as a medical biller in the initial phase of her life; however, a tragic incident led her to find her purpose through the experience of pain and loss. It was in 1990 when Shirley lost her two-year-old son, Demetrius J. Stephens Jr., due to accidental poisoning, when he was staying with the social media star's grandmother.

The sense of grief that followed led her to find that she was healing through self-care and beautification. During a feeding mission on Skid Row, LA, Shirley shared that she found the purpose of her pain, revealing that she realised the connection between her own experiences and the people who lived on the streets, which led her to do outreach work.

Shirley Raines used to return to Skid Row to distribute food, hygiene kits and other stuff to those in need, and later, she returned there with more dignity-based care, including colouring people's hair, doing makeup and more. When she began to livestream, she grabbed the attention. Soon, big brands collaborated with her for her unique approach, leading her to launch Beauty 2 The Streetz. For her work, she not only grabbed the attention on social media but also got national recognition along with CNN Hero of the Year in 2021 and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Social Media Personality in 2025.
