Gorgeous actress, Shilpa Shetty Kundra is known for her flawless acting skills and bubbly nature. The actress made her Bollywood debut with the film, Baazigar in 1993. Since then, she has enjoyed worldwide popularity, and over the years, she has swooned millions of fans and celebrities with her fit physique and impressive personality. However, due to her charming public appearance Shilpa also once indulged in an obscenity case when at a public event, Hollywood star, Richard Gere had kissed her.
As per reports, the sessions court on April 3, 2023, dismissed a petition filed against an order issued by the magistrate court, which had discharged Shilpa Shetty from the obscenity case. Additional sessions court judge, SC Jadhav dismissed the plea filed by the MRA Marg police challenging the magisterial court order of January 18, 2022.

In the Magisterial court order, the metropolitan magistrate, Ketaki Chavan had discharged the actress mentioning that the charges against her were groundless and she was a victim of alleged acts of accused No. 1 (Gere). However, the MRA Marg police were of the opinion that the actress allowed herself to be kissed in the public space, and thus, it was an obscene act. However, the actress also responded by mentioning that she would file a separate proceeding against the complainant for initiating a false case.
It was on April 15, 2007, when Shilpa Shetty had attended an AIDS-awareness event in Delhi along with Hollywood actor, Richard Gere. During one segment of the event, Richard could be seen repeatedly hugging and kissing Shilpa on the cheeks. This action angered everyone so much that the Rajasthan court had issued a warrant for Shilpa and Richard's arrest. And a case was registered under sections 292, 293, and 294 of the IPC and other sections related to obscenity.
There were also nationwide protests against Shilpa Shetty and Richard Gere's actions in the public forum. Later, in November 2011, the Supreme Court transferred the case to the metropolitan magistrate court at Ballard Estate in Mumbai after Shilpa filed a plea about the same. Following this, in February 2017, the actress also applied for discharge, mentioning that the allegations against her were based on why she didn't protest the American actor showing affection to her at the public forum. However, in her opinion, she mentioned that this would not have lessened her role as a co-conspirator in the alleged crimes.

On March 6, 2023, Shilpa Shetty had taken to her IG handle and gave a sneak peek into her Holika Dahan celebration with her family. At the beginning of the video, Shilpa was joined by her mommy, Sunanda Shetty, her hubby, Raj Kundra and their kids, Viaan and Samisha. Sharing the video, she shared that they used to make small chits and pen down their negative feelings and thoughts, which they later dumped in the holy fire. This is how the Shetty and the Kundra family drain all the negativity from their lives.
