On this day, married women keep nirjala fast which means fasting without consuming any water and food, from sunrise till moonrise. According to ancient folklore, married women observe this fast for the safe and long life of their husband. While every woman takes pride to get ready for the Karwa Chauth puja, the Tinseltown ladies are taking the celebration up a notch higher by hosting a special Karwa Chauth party. Yes, Bollywood actor, Anil Kapoor's wife, Sunita Kapoor, every year hosts a party for the married ladies and together they celebrate the day.
Today, on October 17, 2019, we spotted Shilpa Shetty and Raveena Tandon making a statement in red ensembles at Sunita's Karwa Chauth party. In the pictures that have been trending on the internet, we can see Shilpa wearing a pretty red-flared saree and teamed it with a trendy blouse. On the other hand, Raveena opted for a red anarkali and completed her look with jhumkas and hair tied in a bun. Sanjay Kapoor's wife, Maheep Kapoor also attend the festivites in a blue patiala and looked radiant. Take a look at it below:
Chunky Panday's wife, Bhavna Pandya was also apart of Karwa Chauth celebration at the Kapoors. She took to her Instagram handle and posted a group picture of all the ladies and captioned it as "Happy Karwa Chauth."
Shilpa Shetty also took to her Instagram handle and shared a video from the puja, and wrote, "Karva Chauth puja with the KC gang. Thankyou @kapoor.sunita for getting us together and being the bestest hostess always."
Today, Anil Kapoor also revealed the secret behind his good health. He took to his Instagram handle and posted a video from his workout. He captioned it as "All your love, prayers and fasting is making me run faster & keeping me healthy today and everyday! Happy karva chauth."
Sunita Kapoor's Karwa Chauth celebrations are a hit among the Tinseltown ladies and every year the women gang up at her house and celebrate the festival. However, last year's Karwa Chauth was an emotional moment for the Kapoors as they had lost the most important lady of the house - Sridevi Kapoor. We got hold of an old video from Sridevi's Instagram, wherein, she was dancing with Shilpa Shetty on Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
Last year, on Karwa Chauth, Shilpa Shetty was in Sri Lanka and had shared an adorable Karwa Chauth post for her husband, Raj Kundra. She had written, "Had to put this picture out... Just notice the light in the shadow of the sieve looking like the moon. Considering we couldn't see the moon in Sri Lanka till 9.30 pm." In her post, she had also revealed how her husband, Raj also fasts with her, "WE broke our fast (yes, he fasts too) with a pic of the moon seen in Mumbai sent by a friend. You are my sun, my moon and my universe... Thank you for travelling with me. Tum aaye toh aaya mujhe yaad, gali mein aaj Chaand nikla."
