One of the most awaited phases of a woman’s life is when she gets the news of her pregnancy. From that day, she prepares herself mentally and physically to adapt to all the changes that come along with pregnancy. From the morning sickness to swollen hands and feet, she bears everything for her little one. And the moment she holds her baby for the first time in the labour room, time freezes, and all the pains taken by her to bring her little one into this world vanish. And television actress, Shikha Singh is all set to experience all these emotions as she is in her last trimester and waiting patiently to welcome her baby. Shikha Singh is famous for her role as ‘Alaya’ in the daily soap, Kumkum Bhagya. Shikha had married her pilot boyfriend, Karan after dating him for some time. And after four years of marital bliss, the couple is all set to embrace parenthood. It was on April 22, 2020, when Shikha’s husband, Karan had announced the news of her pregnancy. He had shared a picture with Shikha where she was flaunting her baby bump and had captioned it as “Us: Yayyy! Goku: Nooooo, peace gonna be ruined mannn! What did u do?"
Since then, Shikha has been sharing pictures of herself, flaunting her baby bump. On May 28, 2020, Shikha, who is due in the month of June took to her Instagram handle and shared a monochrome picture of herself. In the picture, Shikha, who is in her last trimester was seen flaunting her baby bump. Along with the picture, she wrote, “Only if it was all Black & White #waiting.”
In an interview with The Times of India, Shikha had opened up on embracing motherhood in the times of COVID-19. She had stated, "When Karan and I were planning to go the family way, nobody thought that Corona would come upon us. I had informed the production house that I would be taking a break due to my pregnancy around April, and the production house also agreed to it, but now with COVID19, I have been on a break since March. My husband is a pilot and because of the lockdown, he is at home, otherwise, he would have been travelling. Currently, we are doing all the household chores by ourselves. My husband is a technology expert and has bought me a robot-like sweeping and mopping machine, which sweeps and cleans the floor completely on its own." On May 24, 2020, Shikha had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a couple of pictures with her 'darling hubby', Karan, and their pooch. In the picture, we could see her flaunting her baby bump in a crop top and a pair of shorts. Along with the pictures, she had written, "Kisses galore! Why should only mom dad have all the fun, I’m gonna be a big brother too."
Shikha had met Karan in a gym and realised that the two were staying in the same building. On May 2, 2020, Shikha and Karan had completed four years of marital bliss. Taking to her Instagram handle, Shikha had shared an array of pictures had captioned them as “You will always be My Forever #happy4thmylove” followed by a heart emoticon.
In an interview with the SpotboyE, when Shikha was asked if she prefers a boy or a girl, she had replied, "If the baby is healthy, the gender doesn't matter for me and my husband. I know girls have their own charm and boys also have their own adorability. But we are waiting for a healthy one. We are just praying that life should get normal before the baby’s arrival so that we can enjoy our parenthood right from the word 'Go'."
