Vidya Balan is one such actress, who has inspired us with her work in movies like Dirty Picture, Kahaani, Ishqiya, Meri Pyari Bindu, Tumhari Sullu, Shakuntala Devi and the list goes on. The Padma Shri awardee had impressed everyone and had proved the mettle of her acting with her impressive performance in her film, Shakuntala Devi.

However, not many people are aware of the fact that South Indian actress, Priyamani is the second cousin of Vidya Balan. The unknown fact about two of the most talented actresses in Indian cinema is truly fascinating. However, we haven't seen Vidya and Priyamani together at any casual outings, family gatherings, or award ceremonies.
In an interview with the DNA, Vidya Balan was asked to reveal the kind of bond she shares with her second cousin and actress, Priyamani, who is leading all the headlines after her impressive performance in The Family Man 2. To which, Vidya said, "Yes, but can you believe we've met once in our lives. We are distant cousins." The Dirty Picture actress also added that she had met Priyamani a long time ago during an award function. She added, "We met on a film award stage once because our families are not in touch."
Going further in her conversation, Vidya Balan was asked to react and give some feedback on her second cousin, Priyamani's acting career in the Indian film industry. Vidya Balan answered the question by appreciating Priyamani for her acting chops and heaped immense praises on her. Vidya said, "I'm given to believe that she's a wonderful actor, and she's doing really well for herself. More power to her."

Once during the press conference of the film, Rakht Charitra II, Vidya Balan's cousin, Priyamani had talked about her cousin, Vidya Balan for the first time. The South Indian actress stated that she and Vidya aren't in constant touch with each other. She had said, "Yes, we're second cousins. We haven't been in touch on a personal level -- not to her, but I'm in touch with her father. Whenever I come to Mumbai, I make it a point to call her dad."
However, the doting cousin had heaped immense praises on Vidya in her interview. She had stated, "If possible, I would love to meet Vidya someday, because being cousins is a secondary thing, but as an actor, I'm extremely proud of her, and with the body of work that she's done, she's a fabulous actor."
