Recently, his son, Luv Sinha opened up about his father's struggle days and shared some lesser-known anecdotes.
Shatrughan Sinha's son, Luv Sinha, who is all set to star in the much-awaited film, Gadar 2, opened up about his father's struggle days. Talking about the same in an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Luv revealed how his father would walk miles to save money for food. He stated that during his struggling days, Shatrughan Sinha had to choose between travelling by bus or saving money for food because of his poor financial condition. Elaborating more about it, Luv said:
"There were times when he had to choose either travelling by bus for his meetings or save the money for food. Sometimes he would eat and walk miles and sometimes, to save time, he would let go of food."

Further, in the same conversation, Luv shared how his father, Shatrughan Sinha left his home in Patna to build a career for himself. The actor added that his family had a lot of expectations from his father, which often left him in fear and apprehension. Luv also revealed that he had seen the rise and fall period of his family. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned how his home would be filled with people when his father, Shatrughan Sinha's film, would do good at the box office. Stating that no one would be around when the films didn't work, Luv said:
"There were times when he was at his peak that our house, even though small at that time, was filled with people. And then when his films were not working, no one would be around. I have seen both the rise and the fall, closely."
Further, in the same conversation, on being asked about his father, Shatrughan Sinha's relationship with Amitabh Bachchan, Luv revealed that he doesn't know much about their rivalry. He mentioned that he respects Amitabh Bachchan and his family. Elaborating more on their rivalry, Luv mentioned that it was because of others' manipulation that the problems had crept into their relationship.

Earlier, in an interview with Arbaaz Khan on his show, The Invincibles, Shatrughan Sinha had opened up about his relationship with his wife, Poonam Sinha. Talking about the same, the actor revealed how he first met Poonam on a train from Patna to Puna, where he was going to pursue his career. In his words:
"It felt like a Godsend. We had no idea what was in store for us. I had no idea that I would study acting, struggle, then become a star, and remain in touch through all of this, until one day."
