Shatrughan Sinha Sends Birthday Wishes For Ex-GF, Reena Roy After 43 Years, 'Wonderful Personality'

Bollywood veteran actress, Shatrughan Sinha, took time out from his busy schedule to send birthday wishes to Reena Roy. The actor shared a still from their films they had worked together years ago while extending his wishes to the gorgeous veteran actress. For the unversed, Shatrughan Sinha and Reena Roy were involved in a romantic relationship.

Shatrughan Sinha penned a birthday note for Reena after many years of parting ways

Reena Roy turned 69 years old on January 8, 2026. Those who are close to her celebrated her day with her, and Shatrughan Sinha also shared a wish for her. Sharing a series of stills from their films, Shatrughan Sinha wished his dear friend and called her the best actress ever. He called her an ever-charming star and a great human being. His note can be read as:

"Loving birthday wishes for a very dear friend, one of the best actresses ever, ever-charming star, a great human being, wonderful personality in totality #ReenaRoy. May you stay abundantly blessed always. #BirthdayWishes."

Shatrughan Sinha and Reena Roy first met on Subhash Ghai's 1976 film, Kalicharan. While Shatrughan Sinha gained overnight success with the film, his pairing with Reena became a hit. The two were then featured in several hit films, including Milap, Sangram, Sat Sri Akal, Chor Ho To Aisa, and more. Their work together brought them together in real life, and they fell in love. Many were sure they would marry, but Shatrughan Sinha surprised everyone by marrying Poonam Chandiramani. The two worked together in the film, Sabak. And the first time was years ago, during a train ride.

However, many years later, Shatrughan Sinha explained the reason for not marrying Reena Roy. He stated that sometimes in life one reaches a juncture where one has to make the most difficult decision, and it might not be for everyone's good. He was quoted as saying:

"Hota hai kabhi jeevan mein. Insaan kabhi aise mod pe aake khada ho jata hai jaha faisala karna bahut mushkil hota hai. Par jab faisala kar lia jata hai toh shayad woh sabke haq mein nahi hota hai."

Shatrughan Sinha also talked about staying in touch with Reena Roya despite his marriage to Poonam Sinha on July 9, 1980. His relationship with Reena was labelled as an extramarital affair. On the other hand, Poonam never talked about the same. In an interview with Stardust magazine, Shatrughan Sinha was quoted as saying:

"What makes you think I did not give Reena the breathing space? But if Miss Reena Roy cares only for Mr. Shatrughan Sinha, why should anybody else have any objections? She and her family seek me for companionship, guidance, and advice. Just because I am married, does it mean I should ignore them and cast them aside."

After many decades, Sonakshi Sinha talked about her father's love triangle with Reena Roy while he was married to her mother, Poonam. In an interview with Masala, Sonakshi stated that she wasn't going to crucify her father for what he did years back, and it was his past.
