Veteran actor, Shatrughan Sinha is known for his impeccable style. He does not hesitate to speak his mind, whether it is an issue related to the country, politics or personal life. Shatrughan Sinha, who had met the love of his life, Poonam Sinha on a train to Pune recently, opened up about his personal life and relationship.
In an interview with Arbaaz Khan on his show, The Invincibles, Shatrughan Sinha not only talked about his relationship with his wife, Poonam Sinha, but also recalled the time when he met Poonam for the first time on a train from Patna to Pune, where he was going to pursue his career. Speaking about the same, he said:
"It felt like a Godsend. We had no idea what was in store for us. I had no idea that I would study acting, struggle, then become a star, and remain in touch through all of this, until one day."

In the same interview, Shatrughan Sinha said that he had stopped talking to Poonam before they decided to tie the knot. The actor further said that he decided not to be in touch with her because something else was happening in his life. Elaborating on the same, the veteran actor said:
"Yes, we had stopped talking. It was my decision. It was thought at the time that there was something else but I wouldn't want to dwell on that. But it was my fault, I was looking for an exit strategy, and one day, I told her, You're too good for me, and I can't be with you."
While going further in the interview, Shatrughan Sinha admitted his mistake and said that he was a victim of stardom. During the show, he revealed that he had completely cut off all contacts with Poonam. However, he learned later that she was still taking care of his well-being. In his words:
"It was my mistake. I got carried away, I became a victim of stardom. I used to think that no woman would ever be interested in me, and then, when they were, it's human nature to lose control. Maine talaaq de diya, in a way. We completely cut off all contact, but I would come to know that she was enquiring about me, and my well-being. She would ask my staff to take better care of me, to feed me properly."

This is not the first time that the actor had talked about his personal life. Earlier in an old interview on the WildFilmsIndia's YouTube channel, the Aa Gale Lag Jaa actor talked about his regrets of ignoring all the female attention he used to get. The actor stated:
"When women now express interest in me, I only think of this line — 'water water everywhere, not a drop to drink."
For the unversed, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha got married in 1980 and have three children, two sons, Luv and Kush, and a daughter named, Sonakshi Sinha, who is also a popular Bollywood actress. The couple has been known for their long-lasting marriage and for supporting each other's careers.
