The evergreen actress, Sharmila Tagore was asked about various aspects of her family, during a recent candid conversation. Talking about this, she revealed her son, Saif Ali Khan's hilarious answers about his career choices. In addition, Sharmila also mentioned how her grandchildren, Taimur Ali Khan, Innaya Naumi Kemmu and Jehangir Ali Khan react to the media culture. For the unversed, Sharmila would make a comeback on the silver screens with her upcoming film, Gulmohar, with Manoj Bajpayee, Simran and Suraj Sharma amongst others.
In an interview with Goodtimes, Sharmila Tagore was asked about the media attention that her family usually gets. She was also quizzed about her son, Saif Ali Khan and her grandkids' reaction to the paparazzi culture. To this, Sharmila answered that Saif also used to get very annoyed whenever people squeezed his cheeks and asked about his career choice. She mentioned that Saif had a hilarious answer to the question and elaborated by saying:
“Yes of course. I mean I even then, people would pinch Saif's cheeks and ask 'bade hoke kya banoge beta? Cricketer banoge ya actor banoge?' He would say hockey star. He used to get really annoyed."

Further, in the same conversation, Sharmila mentioned that even though her son, Saif had reacted drastically to all the attention, she had learnt a thing from his daughter, Sara Ali Khan. Sharmila explained how Sara loves to accept things and not fight with reality. She also explained Taimur and Jehangir's reactions and shared:
“But this is different. I have learnt from Sara that you need to accept and not fight it because that's the reality. It's ok. They will take it in their stride. But they (grandchildren) feel the tension of the media, they feel very important and special. And how that will pan out we don't know. It's not their achievement, it's their parents'. So who knows.”
Amongst all her grandkids, Sharmila Tagore shares an unbreakable bond with her eldest granddaughter, Sara Ali Khan. Proof of the same is often found in their public appearances. For instance, on February 26, 2023, at the premiere of Sharmila's upcoming film, Gulmohar, Sara was also present. Taking to her IG handle, she had shared a beautiful picture with her badi amma, Sharmila. In the picture, the duo twinned in shades of blue and looked blissful. Sharing it, Sara called the veteran actress her "Sapno ki Rani", and mentioned that Sharmila is her most stunning granny.

In 1968, Sharmila Tagore had tied the knot with the legendary cricketer, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. They were blessed with three kids, Saif Ali Khan, Saba Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan. While Saif and Soha took the acting career, Saba is a jewellery designer by profession. Saif was earlier married to Amrita Singh with whom they are blessed with two kids, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Later, after parting ways, Saif tied the knot for the second time with Kareena Kapoor and the couple was blessed with two sons, Taimur and Jehangir. On the other hand, Soha married Kunal Kemmu and was blessed with a daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu. Time and again, the family is seen together proving their love for each other.
