Shalini Passi Lost Sensation In Legs After Childbirth, Defied Doctor's Warning, 'Got Up And Left..'

Shalini Passi, who rose to fame after appearing in Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, is currently starring in Netflix's Traitors Season 2. The gorgeousness is known for her impeccable fashion sense. However, did you know she once lost sensation in her legs and spine after giving birth to her son Robin at the age of 20? Yes, you heard that right. The diva who struts in heels now was once told she would never be able to lead a normal life.

In an old interview with Hauterrfly, Shalini Passi got candid about how she almost lost the life she had known. For the unversed, Shalini gave birth to her son, Robin, when she was just 20 years old. However, she faced some medical complications following the birth of her son and lost sensation in her legs and spine.

While the doctors told her she would have to make some severe changes in her life, the gorgeous woman decided she was going to defy the medical prediction. She said:

"My doctor said, 'You will have to get an injection in your spine for the rest of your life,' because I lost all sensation in my spine and legs. He also said you can't wear heels and you can't dance. So I just got up and left. I just got in my car and drove to my dance class. I said I have to dance; I love dancing and I love wearing heels."

Shalini Passi revealed how she managed to overcome the medical prediction

Instead of giving up hope and accepting her fate, Shalini Passi decided she would make a full recovery. She refused the prescribed injections and chose alternative therapies to aid her recovery. Shalini revealed that she opted for Ayurvedic treatments instead and started training her muscles.

In the same interview, Shalini Passi revealed that she still goes to the same doctor. She shared that what she loved about him was the fact that he never gave her any medication. Shalini admitted that she goes to him every five months for check-ups, and he has even said that her recovery was nothing short of a miracle. She was quoted as saying:

"With yoga, Ayurveda, exercise, and muscle training and strengthening, I strengthened my back. I still go to the same doctor. He is a great doctor. I have never gotten any medication from him, but I visit him every five months for my check-up. He says it's a miracle that you fixed this. It's a miracle that you can walk, wear heels, and dance."

In another interview with Deepak Pareek, Shalini Passi revealed that her relationship with her now 27-year-old son Robin is more like that of siblings. She shared that she joins him for various activities and shares hobbies. She admitted that when he was little and they used to go to a store, she would get equally excited seeing the toys. She was quoted as saying:

"I used to go to the toy store and get as excited as my son. I would take him to Disneyland and enjoy the rides with him. Then I would suggest, 'Robin, let's do skating classes,' and we went ice skating. I also taught him to ski and to dive. We were like siblings, growing up together."

Shalini became widely known after her appearance in Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. The show also featured Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Kalyani Saha Chawla, alongside Bhavana Pandey, Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, and Seema Sajdeh.
