On July 07, 2015, Shahid Kapoor had married Mira Rajput, and on August 26, 2016, they had welcomed their little daughter, Misha Kapoor. Two years later, on September 5, 2018, when they were blessed with their second child, Zain Kapoor, the couple had decided to move into a bigger place than where they are currently staying. So, Shahid had purchased a duplex in upscale Worli, Mumbai.
From the last 12 to 15 months, there were reports that Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor’s Worli home was ready for them to move in. However, the couple didn’t move into their new home, and later, the pandemic happened, which delayed their plans. On October 5, 2021, Mira Rajput Kapoor had shared a glimpse of their new abode which was under construction. On her IG stories, she had shared a picture of her husband, Shahid Kapoor dressed in his casual outfit and instructing their interior designer, Annkur Khosla something about their house. The two were seen standing on the artistic stairs, and sharing their picture, Mira had written, “@annkur.khosla one step at a time.”

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor's new home is located in the plush area of Worli, Mumbai. Their duplex, on the 42nd and 43rd floors of Tower B of Three Sixty West, costs a whopping amount of Rs 55.60 crore! Giving their fans an update on their dream house, Shahid has opened up about moving out from their Juhu house in 2022 and shifting to their new house. He said in an interview with ETimes:
"Ah! We hope to move to it soon. In fact, if all goes well, then it would be this year itself."
Further, in the same conversation, Shahid Kapoor mentioned that he and his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor have purchased their new flat keeping their children, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor in mind. He compared families to an adrak(ginger) and explained:
"We needed more space for our kids (Misha and Zain). We really liked the house we saw. It had a great vibe. It’s a bigger space than what we have right now. The kids are growing up and they will need this kind of space. Right now, everything in my house is my kids’ space. Mira and I need our space, too. With passing time, making more room for the family is extremely important. Family adrak ki tarah hoti hai, failti rehti hai. It grows and that feels wonderful. And as it grows, you have to be able to accommodate it with all its increasing needs.”

Shahid and Mira's new home will have a garden for Misha! Talking about the same, in an interview with the DNA, some time back, Shahid had remarked,
"The new home that Mira and I have booked has a garden and other amenities like a gymnasium, etc. Today, our requirement is to have a safe place for Misha where she can play with others. We want her to be with kids of her age because that's how she will have a regular childhood."
On July 9, 2021, Mira Rajput Kapoor had given another glimpse of their new house. She had shared the view from their new sea-facing home in Mumbai. Mira had posted a picture on her Instagram handle with the caption, "Even the sun sets in paradise." In the picture, Mira could be seen gazing at the breathtaking sea view from her new home's balcony.
