Shahid is loved by millions for his blockbuster performances in films like Padmaavat, Jersey, Vivah, Chup Chup Ke, Udta Punjab, Haider and many more. However, it was his role as 'Aditya D. Kashyap' from the film, Jab We Met that still rules the hearts of his fans. And now, as Shahid completed his 20 years in the industry, he shared some lesser-known anecdotes from the films he had worked on.

In a candid conversation with Pinkvilla, Shahid Kapoor opened up about his 20 years in the Hindi film industry. Talking about the same, he spoke about his iconic film, Jab We Met and recalled his reaction when he first heard the script. Elaborating more on it, the actor mentioned that despite knowing that Kareena Kapoor, who played the role of 'Geet' had the strongest part in the film, he wanted to become a part of it. In his words:

"When I heard the script, I completely loved it. I didn't have the strongest part. I knew the female part was the strongest part in the film, still, I wanted to be part of the film."

Further, in the same conversation, Shahid added that he wanted Jab We Met to be on his filmography. Mentioning how he felt the film was relevant, the actor added that he enjoyed every bit of it. Elaborating more on it, Shahid said:

"I felt it was a very relevant, new age love story where people were speaking like how normal people in their 20s speak, and not how people in their 40s acting to be 20s in movies speak. Imtiaz came up with something which was very real and relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted the film to be on my filmography."

When Shahid talked about being called mad for being stubborn on wearing glasses for Jab We Met

Earlier, in an interview with Film Companion, Shahid recalled a lesser-known anecdote from the sets of the film, Jab We Met. Talking about the same, he revealed that he fought with everyone on the sets because he wanted to wear glasses for the character of ‘Aditya Kashyap’ in the film. Shahid added that he was discouraged by everyone as they felt that heroes are not supposed to wear glasses. The actor also stated that he had to make everyone understand that a character like 'Aditya' had to wear glasses as it would add more depth to his personality.

Shahid and Kareena worked together on the film, Jab We Met, and there's no doubt that the ex-couple turned the film into a blockbuster. Earlier, during an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shahid revealed what he would like to steal or imbibe from his co-star and ex-girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor. The actor mentioned that Kareena always had a superstar quality in her, and it has been visible since her first film. In his words:

"She always had a superstar quality, right from her first film, that was special about her."
