Shahid Kapoor shares why he wanted to wear glasses on Jab We Met

In the same interview, Shahid Kapoor further mentioned that he felt like wearing glasses would let people see him differently, or he would look kind of the same in each and every movie. Shahid also shared that soon after Jab We Met, he started making his physical changes, which could be seen in his movie, Kaminey. Shahid shared:

“I felt like that will at least help people see me in a different way. Otherwise, I was always looking the same in every film of mine. And then I started making much bigger physical changes because it kind of empowered me to make more decisions. Like Kaminey was my first complete transition from what people were used to seeing me – usually clean-shaven and very boyish.”

Further, in the interview, Shahid Kapoor talked about the time when nobody was casting him in movies despite his first film being a hit. The dashing actor mentioned that people used to tell him that they write films for men, not for boys like him. Speaking along the same lines, Shahid stated:

"Even after my first film became a hit, nobody was casting me because they looked at me and they said, ‘We don’t write for guys who look like you. We write for guys who have, you know, like eight years older, who are men. We don’t write for boys.”
