Famous Bollywood actress, Shabana Azmi is known for her acting prowess in films over many years. She has worked with prolific actors, including Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and many more. However, her life-turning moment was when she shot a film with Shashi Kapoor, and whom she had been heart-ing since the age of nine. However, her first experience working with him left her in tears as she refused to shoot intimate scenes with him.
Recently, in an interview with Zoom, Shabana Azmi revealed her experience working with Shashi Kapoor. The veteran actress revealed that while she was shooting with Shashi Kapoor for their film, Fakira, and for a song, Dil Mein Tujhe Bithakar, she had to perform an intimate dance with him. However, she wasn't comfortable doing those moves, and she had tears in her eyes. Talking about the same, Shabana said:
"That was his way of showing affection. He was crazy. I will give you an example, we were shooting for Fakira and the song was Dil Mein Tujhe Bithakar. Now, I went on set before he arrived and Satyanarayan ji was doing the choreography and I saw that the moves were very intimate and I was very young at that time and I had tears in my eyes and I left the set and my heart was thudding because I really didn’t want to do those shots."

Shabana further revealed that she went to her vanity and told her hairdresser that she could not perform those shots and started crying. Suddenly, Shashi Kapoor entered the room and asked her what was wrong. When she told him, he scolded her and asked her didn't she knew about this earlier when she wanted to be an actress. Recalling the chilling moment, Shabana said:
"So I went in and I told my hairdresser that I couldn’t do those shots and I started crying. Suddenly there was a heavy knocking on the door, comes Shashi Kapoor, he was like, ‘What’s wrong with you’, so I said, ‘I can’t do those scenes’, he said, ‘Why, when you became an actress and you said Mummy, mummy mai bhi actress banungi tab tumko khayal nahi aaya ki iss tarike ke cheezein tumko karna hai , stupid girl’, and he left."
Shabana Azmi is married to Javed Akhtar, who is known for his love-filled songs and poems. Not many know that Javed Akhtar was earlier married to Honey Irani and had two kids, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. However, soon, he fell head-over-heels in love with Shabana Azmi, and as they say, if you are in love, there is no right and wrong. So, the couple surpassed all the hate directed towards their relationship and married each other on December 9, 1984.
Over the years, Shabana Azmi has created a loving bond with Javed's first family, Honey Irani, and their kids, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. We have often seen them going out on dinners together and showering love on each other. However, in a media interaction, Shabana revealed that Honey Irani had supported her by not poisoning the minds of her kids, Farhan and Zoya, towards her.
