On January 23, 2024, Selena took to the stories of her official Instagram account and shared a before and after picture of herself. She delighted her 429 million fans with a glimpse of herself from 2014, featuring her slim figure. She was donning a zebra-printed bikini, which she paired with sunglasses and bun hairdo. Selena wrote, “Today, I realised I will never look like this again,” atop it. The next story, which she shared, comprised a picture of herself from her birthday getaway in 2023. In the picture, Selena was seen wearing a white-coloured bandeau bikini top and black knickers and flaunted her curvaceous body. She penned, “I’m not perfect, but I’m proud to be who I am… sometimes I forget it’s okay to be me,” as a caption for the photo.
Over the years, the 31-year-old actress-singer has gained weight due to her several health issues, and people have always pointed out the same to her. However, she never for once paid much heed to such nasty comments, and has moved on in her life while flaunting her real self. As per a report by People, previously, Selena has revealed why she has put on weight. She mentioned:
“(When I'm taking it, I) tend to hold a lot of water weight, and that happens very normally. When I'm off of it, I tend to lose weight. I just wanted to say and encourage anyone out there who feels any sort of shame for exactly what they're going through, and no one knows the real story. I just want people to know that you're beautiful, and you're wonderful. Yeah, we have days where maybe we feel like s---, but I would rather be healthy and take care of myself. My medications are important, and I believe that they're what helps me.”
