Is Savannah Guthrie's Elder Sister, Annie Guthrie Arrested In Missing Mother, Nancy Guthrie's Case?

Savannah Guthrie is navigating the most difficult time of her life as her mother has been missing from her home in Catalina in Pima County, Arizona. It's been more than a week since the 84-year-old went missing, and speculations are rife that she was abducted from her home. According to the latest update, police have searched the residence of Annie Guthrie, Savannah's older sister. 

Why is Savannah Guthrie's elder sister, Annie Guthrie, under police radar as they searched her home?

Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie, has taken a new turn. On February 8, 2026, People magazine revealed that the law enforcement team searched Savannah's sister, Annie Guthrie's home. As per reports, officers searched her property, which is just four miles away from Nancy's place, where she was last seen at 9:48 p.m. on January 31, 2026.

Cops were spotted outside Annie Guthrie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni's home at night. This development came when the Guthrie siblings released a video pleading with the abductors to bring her home. The Pima County Sheriff's Department took to X and gave an update on the matter. They confirmed that so far, no suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified. It can be read as:

"The Nancy Guthrie investigation is ongoing. Follow-up continues at multiple locations. No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified. No scheduled press briefings. If any significant developments occur in the case, a press conference will be called."

The police further requested that people not come up to Nancy Guthrie's home, and security will be deployed at Nancy's residence. Also, they stated that no trespassing has been allowed on the Guthrie's propery. The statement can be read as:

"At the request of the Guthrie family, PCSD will maintain a presence at Nancy Guthrie’s residence for security. Media & the public are reminded to follow all traffic & private property laws. No trespassing is allowed on the Guthrie property. Violations are subject to enforcement."

It is worth mentioning that Annie Guthrie's house search came after a NewsNation reporter stated that Annie's husband, Tommaso Cioni, could be one of the suspects in the matter. However, the officials have not named any suspect. But after Annie's home has been searched, it adds new doubts to the matter. 

Annie Guthrie might get arrested in Savannah Guthrie's mother's case

As of now, police officials have not taken Annie Guthrie into custody. The police have just searched their residence, which Annie and Tommaso recently purchased. It is reportedly worth USD 650,0000. The house is just a 10-minute drive from Nancy's home. As per the TMZ report, the search lasted several hours. As per the report, the primary reason for the search was to collect evidence. This has been reported by NewsNation journalists who claimed investigators were seen photographing in the rooms. Some reports also claim that the investigators even checked the septic tank in the house. They were even carrying a briefcase, but no one knows what's inside it. It is worth adding that it is the second time the residence was searched in connection with Nancy Guthrie's abduction. Earlier, the police had taken the couple's car for investigation.
