Embracing motherhood is one of the best phases in a woman’s life. While it brings along many hormonal changes in a woman’s body, one amongst others is the extra kilos that you gain. One of the foremost things to do is to start planning how to drop the pounds once you deliver the baby. This has what Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai fame, Saumya Tandon had done when she had conceived.
For the ones who have been living under the rocks all this while, Saumya is a happily married woman to Saurabh Devendra Singh, with whom she had secretly tied the knot in December 2016. Three years down the lane after enjoying their marital bliss, the lovebirds entered the parents’ bandwagon on January 14, 2019, with the arrival of their baby boy, Miraan Singh Tandon. Saumya had been very inspiring right throughout her pregnancy journey. From flaunting her baby bump, giving maternity fashion a new definition to putting up fitness videos on her social media handle post Miraan’s birth, Saumya would definitely have motivated many newbie mommies for their fitter selves. In April 219, it was reported that she has lost almost 9 kilos after he delivery, and if we look at her latest pictures on Instagram, we would be blown away, for she looks fitter than before! In an interaction with the Hindustan Times, Saumya had once shared her fitness routine and how her back hurts while breastfeeding. Saumya was quoted as saying, “My mid-back was hurting a lot as breastfeeding 10 to 12 times a day was quite exhausting. Sitting with the baby for half an hour every time to feed him, gave me backaches and neck aches too. I am taking baby steps with my exercise regimen. I feel I am not back in the shape I would like to be in. Yet, I feel, I have come a long way post-delivery. I am getting there. I have been consistent with my workouts rather than doing too much right now. Further sharing the details about strengthening back and core muscles, Saumya was quoted as saying, “I am not advocating the aesthetics as much as I am advocating the real benefits of exercising. You should develop and strengthen your back and core muscles because you need that while holding your baby. I started with Pilates, as it is the best form to develop core strength. I am also doing aerial yoga for stretches, my aches and pains. It is also helping me with balancing and posture. I am working on my shoulder and arm strength.”
In another interview with Pinkvilla, Saumya had revealed how her life is post giving birth to her baby. The 34-year-old actress had remarked, “It's quite a big change in my life. It was quite a tough process as I was working throughout my pregnancy. I began not so smoothly. My first trimester was quite bad. But yeah, I picked up. In fact, I was exercising a lot, for 2 hours a day during my third trimester. That kept me going and I was much better. I genuinely feel it's quite an achievement. Saumya had also shared what kind of parents she and her husband want to be for their kid. In the same chat, she also revealed that it was not a planned baby and they were nervous. Saumya had quipped, “We are going to be fun parents. We were very nervous as it was not a planned baby. We were nervous as we will be becoming parents without planning for it. I was very nervous also because we are very sweet, little people so we were very scared of bringing a new life. It's a huge responsibility.”
She had further added, “But now, we both got very excited because we are going to have fun with him; we are going to be fun parents, and we are going to travel with him. And of course, we decided that how he will be with both of us so that both of us can work. I mean, I plan to work soon. So, I and my husband mutually decided how to manage on the days I am working and the days he is working.
