And one who mildly follows Hindi serials would know Gori Mem, Anita Bhabhi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. Yes we are talking about Saumya Tandon. Saumya tied the knot with her long-time beau, Saurabh Devendra Singh in 2016. And after two years of marital bliss, Saumya and Saurabh are all set to embrace parenthood. Sharing two lovely pictures from her maternity photoshoot, Saumya revealed this good news on social media with all her fans. Saumya can be seen wearing black dungarees and beige coloured tank top, flaunting her baby bump and pregnancy glow.
Saumya captioned the pictures as, "Woke up feeling like a magician today, feel like a superhero without a cape most days now, filled with blessing and godliness. Constantly excited by the buzzing in my head and the sudden pump of hormones; this promises to be a fascinating ride. The big news-I'm PREGNANT and trying to soak in every moment of it! Need your best wishes throughout. Thanks @sachin113photographer for capturing my happy moments. You are too sweet."
A few months back, there were rumours doing the rounds that Saumya has left the show because she is two months pregnant. Saumya has always kept her personal life under the wraps. However, she took to Twitter and cleared such speculations, “Hey thanks for the concern, I had a liver infection so was on a leave for a week, have been shooting in Naigaon for Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain since 3 days”.
But even after her tweet, the conjectures didn’t go down and reports floated in media that she is quitting Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai to start a family. A source shared to the Times of India, “Saumya has been part of the show for the past three years. She now feels that it’s time to move on and try out new things. But when Saumya was contacted by TOI, she talked about the same and was quoted as saying, “I am aware that rumours about me planning a family are doing the rounds. My reply is that I would love to have a baby. Motherhood is a beautiful experience and I surely don’t want to miss out on that. In fact, if it happens, I will share it with everyone and enjoy it when the right time comes. As of now, I have no news to share. These things are in God’s hands. Who are we to decide?”
She further added, “Also, my producers are so accommodating and sweet that they had once told me that even during pregnancy, I can continue doing the show, and later go on maternity leave. This is a wonderful change in the entertainment industry, and I really applaud that”.
Shubhangi Atre Poorey, Saumya’s co-actor from the show, who plays Angoori Bhabhi, talked to HT about Saumya’s pregnancy and had then stated, “I neither know about her leaving the show or being pregnant. Motherhood is the best thing that can happen to a woman but I don’t know anything concerning her. She was on a break for health reasons and I am yet to meet her”.
