Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleDiljit Dosanjh’s Satluj arrived on ZEE5 on July 3, 2026, more than two years after dealing with censorship issues. The movie was originally supposed to be released in 2023 with the title Punjab 95. Notably, the latest OTT release happened without any cuts that were originally requested by CBFC in 2023.
While the film opened to positive reviews, it was removed from ZEE5 two days after its release. Although the reasons remain unknown, the latest action has already led to a lot of debate on social media. Amid this, the film has landed itself in another issue where pirated copies have emerged online after its removal from the OTT platform.
ZEE5 shares a statement in response to the piracy problem

As mentioned, Satluj was taken down from ZEE5 two days after it arrived on the platform. However, pirated prints of the movie immediately started emerging on other online platforms like social media. In response to the ongoing issue, ZEE5 shared a statement on their Instagram handle by requesting people not to support piracy and that they are doing all they can to bring the movie back. The statement also reads:
“We are hopeful and doing everything we can. Please do not support piracy. We remain committed to exploring every possible avenue to bring Satluj back to you.”
Diljit Dosanjh also responded to the matter by appearing on an Instagram Live session. The singer and actor expressed happiness about the fact that a lot of people were able to see the film, even though it was available for a limited period.
Diljit seemingly addressed the issue of pirated copies by saying that once something goes online, it cannot be removed permanently. Diljit expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the film was not with everyone, adding that it is their film and it cannot be stopped. He said that he had seen a video from Rajasthan where people were watching the film. He further stated:
“Now you can share it among yourselves, it’s your film. But I’m happy and relieved that the film finally reached the audience. Many people have already downloaded it.”
Diljit Dosanjh says that he never sought the help of anyone from the film industry

While Satluj was facing a lot of hurdles before its release, Diljit Dosanjh recently clarified that he did not take help from anyone in the film industry. Diljit said in a live session that the makers did not promote the film since they were concerned about the fact that the movie might not reach the audience at all. The aim was to ensure that the story of Jaswant Singh Kalra reaches everyone.
Diljit said that for everyone who worked on the project, their biggest victory was when the film reached the audience. Diljit further stated:
“We’ve been fighting to get this film released for the last three to four years. We never went to anyone asking for support. I never asked anyone from my industry, nor did I ever ask anyone in Bollywood to help release our film, support us, or stand by us. We fought this battle ourselves.”
Diljit stated that a lot of people have already downloaded the film, and it has reached everyone. Diljit said that he was satisfied since the hard work that everyone did in the film was able to reach people. He even expressed gratitude to the team, stating that the message of the film reached exactly how they wanted it to be.
