The iconic actor and filmmaker, Satish Kaushik passed away on March 9, 2023, due to a cardiac arrest. The sudden demise of the actor days after attending the Holi party at Javed Akhtar’s place left the entire industry absolutely shocked. From being remembered for his iconic characters to his forming a formidable partnership with Govinda and so many actors over the years, Satish was undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors in the history of Indian cinema. While the impact of his acting needs no introduction, he was also a tremendous filmmaker and is the man who gave Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan his career’s best film, Tere Naam.
Satish Kaushik will always be remembered for the way he worked in the film industry for so many decades and how he always tried his hand at new things. The actor was one of the few actors from his generation who has excelled in the new-age OTT platform too. While his filmography speaks volumes about his craft, the way people rushed to his residence for his antim darshan said everything about his stature in the industry.

If alive, on April 13, 2023, Satish Kaushik would’ve been turned a year older, but as they say, destiny is not entitled to our expectations, and everyone is mourning his loss on his 67th birth anniversary. In a conversation with the Hindustan Times, the late actor’s nephew, Nishant, opened up about his uncle’s death and revealed the impact of his demise on his 10-year-old daughter, Vanshika. Sharing how painful it is for her to experience the loss of a parent at such a young age, Nishant threw light on the unfortunate scenario.
The doting nephew, Nishant also revealed that Vanshika Kaushik had been crying inconsolably for some days now and was terribly missing her father on his birthday. Nishant also revealed that Satish Kaushik’s young girl, Vanshika, also made a card for him, and it was painful to watch her cry. Revealing her thoughts about her daddy’s absence, he said:
"In the past few days, she (Vanshika Kaushik) has broken down again and again. Yesterday, too, she cried a lot, and chachiji had to put her to sleep. She is missing Satish ji, and says ‘papa’s birthday has come, but he is not here’. She has even made a card for him."

Further in the same conversation, Nishant admitted that it is extremely tough for him and his entire family to do anything on his uncle, Satish Kaushik’s birth anniversary. Sharing how his birth anniversary had come just a month after his demise, and no one knew what to do on this day as they were still mourning his loss. Nishant also added that Vanshika and most of their family members are holding on to his uncle’s memories and are devastated, realising that he is no longer with us. On Satish Kaushik’s birth anniversary, his close friend, Anupam Kher shared a video consisting of so many priceless pictures with the late actor. Along with the video, Anupam Kher penned a heartbreaking note in which he mentioned how much he misses him. An excerpt from the same could be read as:
"Shashi aur Vanshika ke saath vaali seat Khaali hogi."
