With a series of hidden facts about SSR’s life coming into light, one shocking fact of ‘consumption of drugs’ startled the nation more, opening up the nexus of drugs. It all started with Rhea Chakraborty's arrest in the case of drugs and it looks like the thread has fallen loose and the names have started dripping of it. From many A-listers of Bollywood being dragged into the drugs nexus, TV actors too were summoned for the same. After alleged drug peddlar, Anuj Keswani had named 20 celebs in the drug nexus, television’s most loved couple, Sanam Johar and Abigail Pande’s name had popped up too. According to the reports of Times Now, the NCB had raided their house after which the couple was summoned on September 23, 2020, and a case had been registered after a small quantity of marijuana was recovered from their house. It was also reported that during the second day of interrogation on September 24, 2020, Abigail had revealed the names of other TV actors involved in the nexus. And the names of Bidaai co-stars, Sara Khan and Angad Hasija had also come in the limelight .
The rumours of Sara Khan and Angad Hasija to be a part of drugs nexus and to be summoned had appeared when the duo had resumed shooting for their TV show, Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kahthayein. Now, in an interview with The Times of India, Sara has opened up on the same and shared that Angad was the first one to inform her about their names being dragged. She said, “Angad informed me about our names doing the rounds in the media. I was shocked and failed to understand why my name was being dragged into it. I haven’t done anything wrong. I was inundated with calls from the media, but I chose to wait for clarity as advised by my legal team.”
Sara Khan is contemplating if she should take a legal action against people, who brought up her name. She added, “I am contemplating legal action against people who carried unverified reports about me. My life can’t be reduced to click-bait journalism.” Talking about being targeted on social media and being called a drug addict, she shared, “Without even checking the veracity of these allegations, people started trolling me. They called me names and a drug addict. This incident shook me to an extent that I almost wanted to kill myself! I have slogged to reach where I am today. I would like people to remember that I am also someone’s daughter, sister and expect the same respect and treatment that they would want for the women in their house.”
As it is assumed that Abigail and Sanam had given her name into the drugs probe, Sara revealed that Abigail had called her to clarify things. Sharing the details, she said, “Abigail called me a few days ago to tell me that she hadn’t taken anyone's name and had no idea why this was happening. Is it because I party and am a happy-go-lucky person? She further shared that people need to focus on more real issues rather than targeting the actors. In her words, “Jo log hamein judge kar rahe hain woh pehle apne girebaan mein dekh le. They can’t get away with saying anything to actors, just because we are public figures. I am shocked to know that many people trust unverified reports. If the audience feels that we influence the youth, I want them to be inspired by some of the positive characters we play.” Sara also talked about losing on work and campaigns owing to the false claims and rumours. She shared, “I have been dropped from three social media campaigns following these rumours. Who will compensate me for it?
