Sanjay Dutt On Taking His Parents, Sunil Dutt And Nargis For Granted, Shares Grief Of Losing Them

Sanjay Dutt was very close to his parents, Sunil Dutt and Nargis. However, the world had turned upside down for Sanjay when he had lost his dearest mom, Nargis in 1981 due to cancer. After Nargis's untimely demise, Sanjay was addicted to drugs. And it was Sunil Dutt, who had taken his son out of that addiction and had helped him to deal with other demons of his life.

Sanjay Dutt's life story is beautifully portrayed in Rajkumar Hirani's movie, Sanju. It had featured some darkest phases of Sanju baba's life when the whole nation had turned against him except his father, Sunil Dutt. But unfortunately, the actor had lost his father in 2005. Now, in a recent interview, Sanjay Dutt revealed his pain of losing both of his parents.

As we know, Sanjay Dutt has beautifully embraced the screens as 'Adheera' in his recently released film, K.G.F Chapter 2. While talking about Yash's bond with his mother in the movie, the host asked Sanjay Dutt how he remembers his late mother, Nargis. To which, Sanjay recalled the time when she had left her career at its peak to raise him and his two sisters, Namrata Dutt, and Priya Dutt. In his words:

"We remember her very, very fondly, not only me, my two sisters also. She (Sanjay's late mother) went a little early. But whatever memory we have, we cherish them. Most amazing mother she is, she left her career at her peak and raised us to be nice human beings. And yes, we miss her, and we love her."

Sanjay Dutt's life has not been a bed of roses, but he has always fought back like a tough man. However, he has a weakness towards his family. In the same interview, Sanju baba was asked if he misses his father, Sunil Dutt. Replying to this, he said:

"I think for any son or any child losing a parent is the worst thing. We forget them and think, 'arey nhi nhi papa mamma toh hai he', we take them for granted. But we should not do that. Spend as much as time you can with them, be with them. Cherish every moment with your parent. After losing them, I am saying this."

"Whatever I am today is because of my father. He is my inspiration and I miss him every day. I did not always share an easy relationship with him. But he always stood by me. I wish he was here to see me as a free man and the beautiful family that I have today. He would have been proud."
