The NCB zonal director, Sameer Wankhede, the man behind the high-profile cruise drug case is under the radar of a lot of controversies. From the moment, Sameer had busted the drug case, involving Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan, he is garnering a lot of limelight in the media. Tagged as the 'super cop', Sameer is the man behind the investigation of the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's drug case.
In the past few weeks, Sameer has been facing a lot of hatred after the reports of him being a part of alleged bribery in Aryan Khan's case. Reports are rife that Sameer was reportedly involved in a Rs. 25 crores deal in Aryan Khan's case after one of NCB's independent witnesses accused him of taking Rs. 8 crores as bribery in the high profile cruise drug bust.
Now, in an interview with ETimes, Sameer Wankhede's wife and actress, Kranti Redkar reacted to the allegations of bribery on him. Calling it a plot to tarnish Sameer's reputation, Kranti stated that if Sameer would have received Rs 8 crores as bribery, they would have settled in London and planned better things for their future.
Rubbishing the allegations on Sameer, Kranti stated:
"Arre! Why would we go to Maldives after he got Rs 8 crores? We should think of settling in London, buy a house and start a business and plan something better for us."
Kranti further questioned why these accusations are made after the cruise drug bust. Calling the whole situation alarming, Kranti said:
"Honestly, why was there no case of extortion against Sameer before this case? Suddenly, these allegations have come up, which is rather alarming. Now suddenly it has come up only to tarnish his spotless image as an upright officer."
On October 25, 2021, Kranti Redkar had shared a cryptic note on Twitter soon after headlines of her husband, Sameer Wankhede's alleged involvement in a Rs. 25 crores deal in Aryan Khan's case had started hitting television screens. Her tweet could be read as:
"When you swim against the tide, it may drown you, but if the almighty is with you, no tide this is world is big enough to drown you. Because, only HE knows the truth good morning. SATYAMEV JAYATE."
For the unversed, Prabhakar Sail was the bodyguard of the absconding witness, KP Gosavi, and had shared a shocking revelation in the context of Sameer Wankhede. He had revealed that he had heard KP talking to someone and had said that a sum of Rs. 8 crores would have to be provided to NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) Zonal Director, Sameer Wankhede. Going further in his statement, Sail had also added that he was scared, as he had feared that the NCB would kill him after revealing this.
The Bombay High Court will hear Aryan Khan's bail plea on October 26, 2021.
