Sambhavna Seth Struggled With Rheumatoid Arthritis After She Underwent Seven Failed IVF Cycles

Actress Sambhavna Seth is on cloud nine after receiving the biggest blessing of her life. The actress recently welcomed twins via surrogacy after her multiple failed IVFs and miscarriages. For the unversed, Sambhavna married Avinash Dwivedi in 2016, and the couple has been trying to become parents for 10 years. However, after many miscarriages, they decided to opt for surrogacy, and it changed their world.

Sambhavna Seth had seven failed IVF cycles

Ever since her marriage, Sambhavna wished to become a mother, and in the process of conceiving, the actress underwent a miscarriage. She later went on to have IVF but ended up with failed cycles. In a desperate attempt to get pregnant, Sambhavna Seth underwent seven failed IVF cycles, which took an emotional as well as mental toll on her.

Sambhavna Seth suffered from rheumatoid arthritis after her failed IVFs

Sambhavna Seth underwent a lot of struggles during her failed IVF. The numerous hormonal injections and treatments caused severe weight gain, hormonal imbalances, and intense mood swings. She also suffered from rheumatoid arthritis after her failed cycles. In one of her Vlogs, Sambhavna revealed that she suffered rheumatoid arthritis years ago but the heavy medications during IVF brought it back. The actress shared that her hands and feet feel stiff, and begin to pain or swell if she sits in the cold for long.

Sambhavna Seth faced immense trolling after she gained weight during her failed IVFs

Another side effect of IVF for Sambhavna was immense weight gain. The actress became a victim of online trolling when she gained weight, and people started criticising her for the same. In an interview with ETimes, Sambhavna spoke about the same and shared:

“It is ultimately IVF. How it reacts to your body is uncertain. After marriage, I also got busy with my work and I thought I'd save enough for the kid. I have seen a life of struggle. But then we didn't realise that IVF's could fail and life would keep moving. And we are still trying. I thought I won't tell people. But they wonder why I have put on weight. So I decided to reveal it to everyone. I am going through so much pain due to injections, medicines and steroids. That's why I gained weight.”

Sambhavna Seth had a fatal miscarriage because of medical negligence

Despite her failed IVF attempts, Sambhavna didn’t lose hope, and after seven failed IVFs, she conceived. Before she could announce the news, Sambhavna realised that she had a miscarriage. When the actress appeared on Gauahar Khan's podcast, Sambhavna talked about her traumatic miscarriage and revealed that it happened due to the doctor’s negligence. In the interaction, Sambhavna revealed that she underwent 2-3 scans as she had been bleeding during the course of her pregnancy, but her doctor assured her that everything was fine.

15 days before the final scan, Sambhavna got terribly ill and suffered excruciating pain in her upper back. However, her doctor kept saying that it was because of her arthritis. But it was her ortho who told Sambhavna that the pain wasn’t because of the arthritis and was a sign of a miscarriage. When she went for a pre-genetic test, her world was turned upside down because she got to know that she was carrying an abnormal embryo, and its growth stopped at the neck. Its heartbeat too was lost 15 days before the final scan.

Sambhavna Seth became a mother to a baby girl and a baby boy after 10 years

After their multiple failed attempts, Sambhavna and Avinash opted for surrogacy. On June 4, 2026, the couple was blessed with twins, a baby girl and a baby boy. Sharing the photos, Sambhavna mentioned that it feels like Maha Diwali to her, as she has welcomed her Lakshmi and Ganesh into her life.
