Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Family Stopped Her From Doing Item Song After Divorce With Naga Chaitanya

Indian actress, Samantha Ruth Prabhu opened up on the most challenging phase of her life and how her family stopped her from signing an item song right after her divorce. Of course, we all will agree that the world might change, but divorce is still considered a hush-hush subject. And Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya had dealt with a rough phase when they announced their separation last year.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed her family and friends stopped her from doing the item song, 'Oo Antava'

The blockbuster Telugu film, Pushpa: The Rise won million of heats, and Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahad Faasil's performances in the film were loved by everyone. However, the item song, Oo Antava, had its own fan following. The song featured Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and her moves took many hearts away. However, her family and friends had asked her not to sign the item song as it was the first project after her separation from Naga Chaitanya.

In an interview with Miss Malini, Samantha talked about the same and revealed people who have always supported her stopped her from signing the item number. However, her first instinct was to take it as she didn't want to stay at home and read all the negative press content. She was quoted as saying:

"When I was offered ‘Oo Antava’, it was in the middle of the separation [from Naga]. After the announcement came, every well-wisher and every family member was like ‘You will sit at home, you will not do an item song just when you have announced the separation’. Even my friends, who always encouraged me to challenge myself, told me, ‘Do not do an item song’. But I was like, ‘Ok, I am doing it.'"

Samantha said she didn't want to hide in her home as she had not done anything wrong. Samantha added that she had givens her 100% in her marriage, and it still didn't work, and there was no way she would feel guilty about it.

When Samantha Ruth Prabhu cried inconsolably at the trailer launch of Shaakuntalam

On January 9, 2023, Samantha appeared for the trailer launch of her upcoming film, Shaakunantalam. A video from the trailer launch has been making rounds on the internet, wherein Samantha broke down while recalling her struggles. However, her fans were left super emotional as the actress tried to calm down and was seen laughing while wiping her tears. 

In the clip, Samantha said that no matter her struggles, her love for cinema won't change. She said:

"No matter how many struggles I face in life, one thing won’t change. That’s how much I love cinema and cinema loves me back. I strongly believe that this love will grow manifold with Shaakuntalam."
