Queensland Police said a 46-year-old Victorian man was charged in the wee hours of Sunday, October 4, 2026, with assault in a domestic violence context in a domestic setting. He was reportedly refused bail. Wood's arrest came just hours after he shared a post on social media about making a "comeback" and a cryptic mention of "apology".
What are the charges against Sam Wood?
According to reports by Queensland Police, officials received an alleged domestic from a property on Hastings Street in Noosa around 9:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Wood, who was reportedly holidaying in the area, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning. The Bachelor Australia star is known to be facing two domestic violence offences following the alleged incident on the Sunshine Coast, including assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting. The victim's identity has not been disclosed as of now.
Wood is scheduled to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, October 5, 2026, and a bail request has been refused. It is unclear whether the victim was someone else or his wife, Snezana Wood. Hours before his arrest, Sam posted a cryptic message on social media that read:
"The comeback is personal. It's an apology to myself."
Who is Sam Wood's wife, Snezana?
Sam Wood's wife, Snezana Wood (formerly Snezana Markoski), has been a part of the fitness entrepreneur's life for over a decade now. The pair first met in 2015, during the third season of The Bachelor Australia, where Wood was the lead. It didn't take long for their love story to blossom into one of the franchise's most successful ones.
By the end of the season, Sam's eyes were fixated only on Snezana, and he gave the final rose to her. The couple eventually exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at the Fig Tree Restaurant in Byron Bay, New South Wales.
When the couple met, Snezana was already a mother to daughter Eve from a previous relationship. She and Sam later expanded their family and welcomed three more daughters together, Willow, Charlie and Harper.
The reality TV couple has largely built their private life away from the television spotlight. Snezana has spoken up about her life as a single mother, her education and the challenges that came with suddenly becoming a public figure after The Bachelor.
Before reality TV fame, Snezana studied molecular genetics and biotechnology and later published the memoir Untold: A Story of Love, Motherhood, Heartbreak and Change.
Over the years, Snezana and Sam Wood have largely maintained the image of a happy marriage, but after the latter's arrest, Bachelor Nation can't help but question what things are really like behind the camera.

Wood turned his Bachelor fame into a major fitness business, launching his own brand, 28 by Sam Wood, after his reality TV appearance. The online fitness company was eventually sold in 2022 for a reported 71 million Australian dollars, but Wood remained involved as a public face of the brand.
The fitness entrepreneur also owns The Woodshed gym in Melbourne and has continued expanding his business interests. Earlier in 2026, he also became the face of OLLO for Women, a medical weight-loss, nutrition and telehealth venture aimed at women aged 40 and over.
His personal life has also remained in the spotlight over the years. In September 2025, Sam and Snezana purchased a multi-million-dollar home in Melbourne’s Brighton area, reportedly for around AUD 7.15 million. The property includes luxury features like a tennis court and a swimming pool.
All eyes are currently on the arrest of Sam Wood, and the biggest questions surrounding him probably won’t be answered until he appears in court on October 5, 2026.
