The handsome hunk was bowled over by the beautiful Sakshi Rawat and after falling head-over-heels in love with one another, the duo had tied the knot on July 4, 2010 in a private ceremony. On February 6, 2015, the lovely couple had embraced parenthood and were blessed with a little angel, whom they have named, Ziva Singh Dhoni. The five-year-old is not just the apple of her parent’s eyes but netizens too, drool over Mahi and Sakshi’s little munchkin. Ziva is already a sensation on social media with 1.6 million followers on her verified IG handle which is managed by her parents.
On November 19, 2020, Sakshi Singh Dhoni turned 32 and celebrated her birthday with her friends and family. With black and golden coloured balloons in the background and her little angel, Ziva by her side, Sakshi celebrated the day with much joy. Amid the celebration, the star wife managed to steal a moment with her hubby, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. With arms around each other, the duo flashed their perfect smile while posing for the camera. Sakshi shared the picture on her IG handle and captioned it with an array of heart emoticons.
Sakshi and Dhoni were destined to be together. For the uninitiated, the duo hails from Ranchi and were in the same school and their fathers were working for the same company. But before Cupid could do his work, Sakshi's family had gotten shifted to Dehradun. But as we say, true love will find its way and that's exactly what happened with them. They met again after a decade in Kolkata at Taj Bengal (where Sakshi was doing her internship), during Team India's stay in November-December, 2007. On July 4, 2020, Sakshi and Dhoni celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary and the former had penned a heart-melting note, describing their journey so far. She had taken to her IG handle and shared couple of pictures with Dhoni and Ziva and had written, “Walking together for ten years has been teamwork. Building space for each others growth has helped us mature. Being mad at each other, at times, made us come closer. Prioritising the matters in life, made us realise the importance of those! Playing fair by not pushing each other has made us stronger. Working together through the ups and downs, made us understand the magic of love! Celebrating this day by being grateful to our parents, siblings, relatives and friends. Missing our loving and caring friends who have been our strong support system at all times. Thank you to all the loving fans, without them the journey would be bland.”
In an interview with the Wisden magazine, Dhoni had shared that Sakshi holds the third place in his life. He had said, "I love my country. I tell my wife she is only the third most important thing after my country and my parents, in that order. The point is that while I am an Indian cricketer I will devote myself to that cause. Cricket is not everything, not by any means, but it is a large part of who I am. Therefore, I want to play in all formats of the game and to play as much as possible because before long it will be over. Then I’ll focus more on the Army!"
