On May 8, 2018, Sonam Kapoor tied the knot with the love of her life, Anand Ahuja. But before Anand, Sonam dated some well-known personalities from the glam world. And now after 5 months of Sonam Kapoor’s wedding, her ex-boyfriend Sahir Berry tied the knot in a grand wedding in Delhi. Son of Binoy Berry, Sahir is the Director of Contec Global and the Founder of subsidiaries, AfriOne and NowNow. After being in a relationship with Savitri Singh of the DLF Group who handles the Lodhi Hotel and DLF Emporio, for a long-time, Sahir finally decided to tie the knot with his lady-love.
Sahir and Savitri’s big-fat wedding took place between October 25 and 27, 2018, making it a busy weekend for the who’s who of Delhi. Nearly all big shots attended one of the biggest weddings of 2018, which witnessed KP Singh’s granddaughter, Savitri getting hitched to her fiancé, Sahir. Savitri and Sahir’s sangeet took place on October 25, 2018, and the night saw about 3,000 people in attendance.
From Jyotiraditya Scindia, Shobhana and Shyam Bhartia, Digvijay Singh, Anand Burman of Dabur, Pawan Munjal, hotelier Priya Paul, Sonia and RPM Singh, among others marked their presence at the grand wedding. Singers Mika Singh, Sukhbir, Guru Randhawa, Adnan Sami, AR Rahman, Harshdeep Kaur and Nigerian singer, Wizkid belted out some peppy numbers, and a grand reception was held at Shakuntala Farms, Prithviraj Road. For the Halloween themed party, it took place at the famous, Mehrangarh Fort and at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, the lovebirds hosted an African-themed wedding party. The Wedding Design Company shared some glimpses of the grand wedding décor on their Instagram handle, and wrote, “It’s time for Jodhpur to turn into Africa. It’s not every day that we get asked to plan and design an African wedding party – with a contemporary twist. The dinner table tops were customised with; African print on the chairs, together with uniquely styled floral elements, @savitridsingh and Sahir @theweddingdesigncompany #notberrysinghle”.
Sahir and Savitri's mehendi, wedding and reception took place in Delhi. For their wedding, Afreen Wedding Services shared some details about the theme of the evening, and wrote, “Hello Delhi! Our mystical peony forest overgrown with layers of peonies and garden roses took over the wedding walkway. Lush florals, soft pastel hues, and enchanting details reckons a new beginning. For the uninitiated ones, it was reported that apparently Sonam Kapoor’s sister, Rhea Kapoor played the Cupid between them. Their relationship hardly lasted a year as the lovebirds barely ever got to spend time together. Sahir and Sonam were often spotted together at parties and dinners but Sonam always kept quiet about it. Sonam could not deal with the long-distance relationship and she called it quits with Sahir.
In an interview with BollywoodLife, when she was asked again if she is still seeing him and she replied, “In the past eight years, I have never spoken once about my personal life and I never will. I’m an extremely private person and nobody in my family even knows what’s going on in my personal life.” When further probed, “So love, romance, etc is on hold at the moment?”, Sonam retorted, “I did not say that.
