At the age of 34, Sahara's passing has left many in disbelief. She was a new mom, and her daughter was just months old. In an interview with TMZ, the family revealed that she passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital and that she was loved. The family said:
“She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved."
Sahara Ray's fans and friends shared their condolences, including her friend, Becky Heam, who called Sahara a pure heart and said how broken she is to hear the news. Heam wrote, "Sahara, a pure one with a very big heart. My heart is broken for you and your family. Rest in peace."
Sahara welcomed her first daughter, Snow, in January 2026. She took to her Instagram handle and shared a video of her baby bump and asked people to wish her luck as she was induced at 8 p.m. Ray announced her newborn baby to her followers in April 2026 with a sweet video. She wrote, "Baby snow hallelujah."
Sahara's last post was dated July 19, 2026. She had shared three photos of her baby girl, who looked adorable and was seen laughing and smiling. Sahara called her 'whole heart'. Before that, she had shared a post on Mother's Day as she wished the day to all the fellow mothers. She wrote:
"Happy Mother’s Day to all my strong, beautiful mothers. You are the light and love of my life, baby Snow. Thank you for existing."
For the unversed, Sahara was the daughter of supermodel Ty Raye and had spent her childhood in Australia, California, and Hawaii. She had studied at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in L.A. Sahara's first brush with media attention came when she was photographed skinny dipping in Hawaii with Justin Bieber.
However, Justin's closeness with Sahara was short-lived as he was seen photographed holding hands with Sofia Richie one week later. In 2023, Sahara got married to Elliot Grainge. In 2024, Sahara talked about her struggle with Guillain-Barré syndrome in 2024.
Sahara's health issue was a rare neurological disorder that left her partially paralyzed after she was involved in a car crash. In a TikTok video, she revealed that she was paralyzed from the tops of her upper thighs all the way down to her feet, and she could barely walk. She revealed the incident changed her life in an instant and sent shock through her body, triggering a serious illness.
The internet was in shock after finding out about Sahara's death. One user shared that she had just had a baby. A second one penned, "Nooo, poor baby Sahara. And her sweet baby Snow. This is so sad." A third one commented, "She was suffering from Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) since 2024. She passed away, surrounded by her family and friends, so I'm assuming she died from this illness or complications from it."
