Actor, Ryan Gosling, who is all set to play the role of 'Ken', ‘Barbie’s boyfriend in Greta Gerwig’s new directorial venture, Barbie apologised to BTS star Jimin for copying his style. Jimin is a musician and a member of South Korea’s most popular boyband, BTS. In BTS’ Permission To Dance music video, Jimin is spotted wearing a similar cowboy outfit that Ryan Gosling’s character, 'Ken' will be wearing in his upcoming movie Barbie.
As soon as the pictures of Ryan Gosling wearing the same cowboy outfit as BTS’ Jimin surfaced online, netizens lost their mind. The cowboy outfit is an all-black ensemble with only white tassel fringes on the torso and sleeves. Ryan’s 'Ken' outfit had a little more detailing with a silver belt, pink handkerchief tie-up-collar, a few silver brooches on the shirt’s collar and a cowboy hat. However, their base outfit was all the same, and in true Barbie fashion, no two 'Ken' can wear the same outfit. If they do, the 'Ken' who wore it afterwards has to gift the first one (which in this case in Jimin) his most prized possession. This is precisely what Ryan Gosling did. The Barbie star gifted Jimin his most prized possession, i.e. 'Ken’s guitar!

The fans were all going gaga over the same outfit when it was featured in the Barbie movie’s trailer. Moreover, Jimin on numerous occasions has revealed that one of his favourite movies of all time is Ryan Gosling’s The Notebook. Neither of the two addressed the similar outfit deed until recently. Ryan Gosling took to Barbie’s official Twitter page and dropped a video. He stated:
‘Hi, Jimin, it's Ryan Gosling here. I noticed that your Permission To Dance video outfit is the same as my Ken outfit in the upcoming movie Barbie. I have to give it to you, you wore it first, and you definitely wore it better. And there is an unspoken Ken code that if you buy another Ken’s style, you have to give them your most prized possession. So, I hope you will accept the Ken guitar as my humble offering. Besides, Ken doesn’t really play anyway. So, it will be much better in your hands.”

Greta Gerwig’s directorial venture Barbie is the first ever live-action of the iconic doll. Starring Margot Robbie as 'Barbie', and Ryan Gosling as her boyfriend, 'Ken', the movie has released on all of your nearest theaters on July 21, 2023. The film follows the duo's journey of self-discovery after being dismissed from Barbie Land for being less perfect doll. The movie will clash with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which is also set to release on the same day.
The fans are awaiting for Jimin’s response to the sweet gesture of Ryan Gosling.
