Yes, this is the most important thing which many people do not consider while selecting necklaces for a dress. Your necklace will stand out only if you wear it with the right neckline. Ballet, scoop, V-neck, strapless and off-shoulder dresses/blouses are ideal for any neckpiece. While, with crew neck, shirts, boat neck, cowl and turtle neck you should either opt for bib neck pieces, layered or single chain necklaces.
When it comes to bold neck pieces, it is best to wear just one piece rather than two. Avoid wearing statement earrings along with the neck piece. It will look over crowded otherwise. Just let your bold neck piece, do all the work. However, you can wear a simple ring or a bracelet with it. But if you are planning to wear two-three chain necklaces then make sure you select the pieces which co-ordinate with each other in terms of colour. Also, try to wear same kind of metals. Wearing layered necklace can be tricky, but if worn correctly it looks charming.
Also, if you are wearing belt/ kamarbandh then avoid wearing long chain necklaces as it will look too crowded near the waist. Simply wear choker or bib necklace on the tops or dresses. Just remember the golden rule of wearing statement necklaces- less is more.

Bold accessories with shimmer dresses, sequined dresses, or busy patterns are a big ‘NO’ because everything will get mixed up and your jewellery will not stand out. It will make it look like one big mess. So, choose pieces for such dresses wisely. You can wear a statement ring or a bracelet with such dresses instead of a neckpiece. But, if you are wearing a little black dress, a plain monochrome outfit, white, neutral or block colour outfit, then you can experiment with various bright, big and colourful accessories. You can even try out neon neckpieces for such dresses. All in all, whatever you wear, make sure it complements your dress rather than making it look busy.
If you want to wear more accessories with your bold jewellery then opt for some smaller pieces that will go well with your statement piece. Just remember to keep other accessories to the minimum and opt for same colour or metal jewellery.
Earrings are the first thing that will get noticed, so choose it wisely according to your face shape and dress colour. Also, style your hair according to the length and pattern of your earrings. For example, with dangling statement earrings it is best to keep your hair sleek, tied up or with loose waves as it will balance your look. Other thing which you should keep in mind is to make sure that your makeup complements your earrings. Instead of loud makeup with bold earrings, opt for simple and clean makeup to get the look right.
When it comes to statement rings, make sure your nail polish does not match with the colour of your ring. Also, avoid wearing your bold ring with multi-coloured manicures, glittery nail polish and nail art. It will look messy with your ring.
