Blackpink's Rose Reveals Dressing Up As Grandmother To Meet Her Ex-Boyfriend, 'Studied How Older..'

BLACKPINK's Rose is a popular K-pop star, who is well known for her song, APT, alongside Bruno Mars. For the unversed, Rose is currently grabbing attention for not winning any Grammy Award for the song, APT. Well, amid that, recently, the singer opened up about one of her past relationships and shared the extreme steps she had once taken only to meet him a few times.

Rose used to dress up as a grandmother to meet her ex-boyfriend

Recently, the much-loved singer, Rose appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast and during a candid conversation, she opened up about her past relationship. While the singer didn't name her boyfriend, she revealed that she used to go to extreme lengths to hide from the paparazzi. Rose stated that while dating her then-boyfriend, she used to study older women on the streets and then order clothes similar to them. Rose was quoted as saying:

"I got a wig. A black curly wig, like a short one. And then I studied how older people, like elderly women, would dress on the street. I’d be like, 'Okay, they wear that kind of skirt, those shoes, that kind of bag.' I would study it, order it, and then dress up."

Further, Rose explained that she used to disguise herself only when they were meeting at his place. She also revealed that even her then-boyfriend used to disguise himself as a grandfather; however, he did not study any elder man like her. The singer also recalled her time with her ex-boyfriend and shared that they used to rarely step out for dates, public outings or having food. They preferred enjoying themselves at his place. In her words:

"I would go to his house like that, because we couldn’t go anywhere. I traveled that way just in case somebody saw me."

Is Rose single?

During the same conversation, Rose further revealed her relationship status. Later, when she was asked the reason behind keeping her relationships private and hidden from the media, the  singer shared that she wants to keep the person she loves safe. She shared that she doesn’t trust the media enough, right now. She further stated that if she is able to trust the media in future, she wouldn’t mind sharing it. She explained:

"I feel if I say no, it’s such a lie, you can tell. I am looking for love. I've never been in a public relationship, and a lot of that is because I want to protect the person I love. It hurts more when people close to me get attacked. Maybe in the future, if I really trust the media to protect me, I’d feel more comfortable. But for now, I think a lot of people understand what that feels like."

Netizens debate as Rose and Bruno Mars do not win a Grammy Award for APT

Currently, Rose and Bruno Mars are grabbing attention as they didn’t win anything for their much-loved song, APT, despite being nominated in three categories. This sparked a debate on social media, with users claiming that the Grammy Awards behaves differently with Korean people. One user commented, "APT winning nothing despite literally being everywhere is just more proof that the grammys hate koreans." Another user wrote, "There’s no hope for K-pop at the Grammys in the near future… a global hit like ‘APT.’ won nothing." A third user penned, "Whether you're a fan or not you cant deny the impact that APT has had. Its literally one of the biggest hits of decade."
