The only batsman in the world ever to score double century twice in limited overs, only captain to win the IPL title thrice, the maximum number of individual 6s (16) in an ODI match, are just a few records, among innumerable others, held by Rohit Sharma. He is currently the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team and leads Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
Anyone with dreams would love to be in a position where Rohit Sharma is currently, right? But not many know what all was done before this humongous success. If there is any 'rags to riches' story in the Indian cricket fraternity, it has to be of Rohit Sharma. This man needs no testimony, for his bat does all the talking. The man who once didn’t change schools only because of the financial constraints, today lives in a high-end plush apartment in Mumbai which costs 30 crores! And today, we’re going to talk about the same same, the 29th Floor, Ahuja Apartments, Worli, Mumbai where Rohit Sharma resides.
The 29th-level luxurious house is a 6,000-square-foot apartment which Rohit bought in 2015 at a whopping cost of 30 crores rupees after he was engaged to Ritika Sajdeh. Rohit and Ritika walked down the aisle on December 13, 2015 and moved in this high-rise skyscraper.
Bunty Sajdeh, the company that manages Rohit Sharma’s affairs once revealed to the Mumbai Mirror:
“The location is important because of Rohit’s lifestyle (training and travelling). So the fact that it’s just a two-minute drive away from the sea link is a huge boon”.
The house, designed by the Palmer and Turner Architects from Singapore, gives a 270-degree view of the magnificent Bandra-Worli sea link. Rohit Sharma’s house boasts of many modern technologies and can surely be termed as a ‘smart house’.
The height of the living room ceiling is at 13 feet. The room also features a piano and the balcony attached to it gives an amazing view of the Arabian Sea. The balcony is entirely made up of timber wood, from the walls to the flooring.
Flats in Ahuja Towers, and obviously of Rohit Sharma, has a living room, kitchen, and bedroom, and not one but three standard bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms can be converted into a family room, guest room and a kid’s bedroom when need be. For client and business meetings, there is a separate room for that. There is also a creative work corner, a separate study/library room. And the eye-catcher is a walk-in-wardrobe for the stunningly stylish Rohit Sharma.
As you enter Rohit Sharma’s house, the very first thing that will catch your eyes is the cascading water wall. Besides that, the high-end features include an entertainment area, a wine cellar, spa, jacuzzi, a mini-theatre, yoga room and of course a business area! The automation has been designed in such a way that Rohit and Ritika are able to control the many systems in their house with just switches and remotes. These luxurious features make Rohit Sharma’s a paradise on earth.
In a city which never sleeps, and where everybody wants to make it big, simply owning a room in Mumbai needs a lot of elbow greasing. But sooner or later, it always pays off. And Rohit Sharma has proved it. A guy who once couldn’t afford paying 50 rupees for his cricket academy, today owns a 30 crore rupees worth of an apartment!
