Day Four at the 2012 Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week witnessed a Bollywood-studded launch of VILASA—the wedding company by Rocky S. The ambience across the ramp was in tune with the theme of a wedding, complete with bright carnations. The background music comprised of shehnai to establish the aura of a wedding ceremony.
Rocky S’ creations underlined the VILASA wedding being an epitome of grandeur. His wedding apparel was customizable, ensuring that the trousseau for the bride or bridegroom remains exclusive. As a part of VILASA, Rocky S has progressed towards becoming a complete, Wedding service-provider. VILASA will cater to designer elements besides the wedding ensemble. This includes establishing the appropriate outdoor and indoor aesthetics for the wedding and choice of menu items or floral decorations.
Opulence in Indian weddings has been steadily rising and the marketplace has a major scope for premium, wedding service-providers like Rocky S. The trousseau showcased here was typically Rocky S, using subtle shades. Women dressed as brides, walked down the aisle wearing gold sequins and dull beige. Male models adorned a bold look with red-colored outfits. Most sarees showcased here had heavy threadwork in gold and were matched with elegant, dark navy-blouses. The highlight of the bridal-wear included the Dori Choli, paired with dark-purple lehenga.
For adding oomph and exclusivity, Rocky S used small, golden coins and ghungroos while some ramp-scorchers wore sensual kamarbandhs. The groom ensemble consisted of shimmer and Patiala suits prepared from pure silk. Groom-wear also consisted of kurtas embellished with intricate, hand-worked patterns. Overall, groom’s collection exuded a very traditional vibe with models walking the ramp in heavily-embellished shervanis matched with pearl necklaces.
The glamour quotient comprised of Bipasha Basu & R Madhavan—the star-cast of 'Jodi Breakers'. Bipasha was at her sensational best, dressed in a velvet lehenga with heavy, golden embroidery. Madhavan opted for a more elegant ensemble with a maroon and white sherwani.
