It’s no secret that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are dating each other. Cupid struck between the two when Ayan Mukerji’s next film Brahmastra, in which the two will be seen together, went on the floors. From speaking reverently about each other in the interviews to Alia posting Ranbir’s clicks on social media, they are head-over-heels in love with each other. We also know that Ranbir’s parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, and Alia’s parents, Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, have also spoken about their children’s relationship. And now, there comes another approval. Still guessing? Well, we are talking about Ranbir’s sister. Yes, Riddhima Kapoor approves of Ranbir Kapoor’s pairing with Alia Bhatt. Talking to Hindustan Times about Ranbir and Alia’s relationship, Riddhima said, “Hota hi hai (It happens, the speculations). Ask him (laughs)! What can I say? I am happy if my brother is happy, and I am a very happy sister (smiles)”.
Well, it seems that approvals are raining in from everywhere for Ranbir and Alia. Also, this isn’t the first time, it seems, that Riddhima has approved the relationship. Earlier, she had sent a wonderful gift to Alia, a bracelet. The Raazi actress took to her Instagram stories and thanking her would-be-bhabhi, Alia posted the following picture on her Insta story:
Ever since the news of Alia and Ranbir dating each other broke out, speculations have begun as to when they would be marrying. Recently, a source close to the Kapoors revealed to a media portal, “She has been welcomed into the family by everyone. So it’s not just Ranbir who loves Alia. His parents, sister and the rest of the sprawling Kapoor family adore her too. Marriage is on Ranbir’s mind for sure and he will get into it happily this time. The couple will wait until Rishi Kapoor’s recovery before discussing a date for marriage”.
Other reports were rife with the news and speculations of Alia’s career post-marriage as it is the Kapoor parampara that bahus don’t carry on with their professional lives, be it acting or any other profession. Taking about the same, the source further added, “Though other Kapoor bahus like Karisma-Kareena’s mom Babita and Rishi’s wife Neetu Singh gave up their careers after marriage, theirs was a voluntary decision. Alia will continue with her thriving career”.
Speaking of Alia and Ranbir’s marriage, recently Rishi Kapoor was quoted as saying, “It’s Ranbir’s life. Who he wants to get married to is his prerogative. Neetu likes her, I like her, Ranbir likes her. Get it? I can’t be judgmental. After all, my uncles Shammiji and Shashiji and I chose our life partners. Ranbir is entitled to choose his”. In another interview, the veteran actor said, “It is high time he got married. I settled down when I was 27, Ranbir is 35. So he should think about marriage. He can marry anyone of his choice; we don't have any objection to it. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I am gone.” He further shared, “[Be it] Ranbir or his contemporaries, actors have blinkers on and are focused on their work. The only women they meet are the actresses. They don't socialise as much; that is the flipside of life in the movies”.
In fact, even Alia’s father, Mahesh Bhatt dropped some hints about her daughter;s marriage with Ranbir recently, and he was quoted as saying, “Oh, the paparazzi age is here and you have people from the outside using their premise to capture the image, because that’s what the nation is thrusting for.’ So, not saying more, I’d let the paparazzi guess if papa is raazi”.
He further added, “I have never spoken about my children’s private lives. They are adults and it is their prerogative. I would never demean and belittle them by talking about it in public. It’s their right and if they want to talk about it or to remain silent about it; it’s their choice. I respect what they do with their life”.
Even their mommies aren’t far behind. Recently, Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan shared with a media portal, “Rishi ji is very outspoken, he never minces words. We all know each other, I have worked with him. I know Neetu and Ranbir. What’s the big thing? But Ranbir is a lovely, lovely boy”.
