Despite belonging to the prominent Kapoor family of the film industry, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor's daughter, Riddhima Kapoor has always chosen to stay away from the limelight. Unlike her brother, Ranbir Kapoor and cousins, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Riddhima chose a different path for her career and with her passion for creativity, created a niche for herself as a designer. Riddhima had her own fair share of struggles, ups and downs in making her career and reaching where she is today!
As per a Yahoo Lifestyle article, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni spoke about her life and parents, late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. Riddhima praised Neetu for being a hands-on mom, who was always available for them but at the same time, ensured to make them independent and responsible. Riddhima calls her mom a 'giver', who loves her family and kids unconditionally, and she gave her 20/20 on being a beautiful homemaker. Riddhima often tease Ranbir saying Neetu loves her more than him, but Mrs Kapoor's patent answer to whom she's soft on is "I have loved Riddhima two years more than Ranbir."

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni also affirmed that Neetu Kapoor likes her independence and me-time, which is why she would make a 'fab mom-in-law'. Riddhima was quoted as saying, "Mom will make a fab mom-in-law. Totally chilled out. She'll give her daughter-in-law everything and expect nothing. She won't be a ghusu – the interfering kind. She values her space, so she will give them their space too. She will spoil her daughter-in-law rotten, shower her with love, give her all the respect and look after her… without meddling in their lives. In short, she will treat her like a queen."
For Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor, their mother, Neetu Kapoor is their priority and all three of them derive strength from each other. When Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukaemia, it was the worst and most challenging phase for them as a family but particularly for Neetu. Riddhima calls Neetu 'an Iron Lady, a rock', who dealt it with great strength and didn't leave his side for a day. The hospital where Rishi was undergoing the treatment was 20 minutes away from where Neetu was staying.

As Neetu Kapoor was not allowed to stay at the hospital at night, she had visited Rishi Kapoor regularly and whenever he had craved to eat something that wasn't available at the hospital, she prepared it herself for him. Neetu had even pampered Rishi with 'manicure and pedicure'. Riddhima continued, "The period was indeed tough. But she didn’t give up. Of course, there were moments when she felt she couldn’t pull it further. She may have had a meltdown like we did. But she never shared it with us. Because we would fall weak. She pushed herself to make him comfortable. Her life was just about him those days."
Ranbir Kapoor's girlfriend, Alia Bhatt, who was a pillar of strength for the Kapoor family during the tough phase, had penned how her relationship had formed from her Student Of The Year co-star to a father. Alia had written, "What can I say. About this beautiful man... who brought soo much love and goodness into my life. Today, everyone speaks of the legend that is Rishi Kapoor... and though I have known him like that all my life... for the past two years, I have known him as a friend, a fellow Chinese food lover, a total cinema lover, a fighter, a leader, a beautiful storyteller, an extremely passionate tweeter and a father!"
Speaking of the two years she had spent with him and the love she had received from him, Alia had continued, "In these past two years, the love I have received from him is a warm hug that I will always cherish! I thank the universe for giving me this opportunity to know him... today probably most of us can say he is like family - because that's how he made you feel. Love you, Rishi Uncle! Will miss you forever! Thank you for being you!"
