For those who don’t know, it is Rhea, who is known for turning her sister, Sonam into a millennial influencer. She is not just a style maven or another ‘Kapoor’, but she is the mind and soul behind some of the hit films such as, Veere Di Wedding, Khoobsurat and Aisha.
She chose to stay behind the camera and let her other siblings conquer the world, but as we say, ‘A Queen remains a Queen, all it takes is a fight to win the title’. Recently, she has been making headlines with her tremendous weight transformation within just six months. She is an inspiration for all those, who are struggling to lose few extra killos. But if you are wondering what is her secret behind the drastic weight loss, it is none other than her Keto diet which Karan Johar has also mentioned millions of times. Recently, Rhea went live on her Instagram handle with her nutritionist, Karishma Boolani, and revealed about her diet plan – Ketogenic diet that helped her shed all the extra weight. Karishma shared that Ketogenic is high fat and low carb diet. It is not a plan but a lifestyle, which helps in transforming the way you eat. She also called out people who count caloriest and gams, “Human body is not a computer and does not work by numbers that go in and are burned. So we should not obsess over the numbers.” In the same session, when someone asked what is more important diet or workout, Karishma responded, “It is primarily diet that determines how much weight you will lose. However, it is an exercise that helps your overall health. So they both are somewhere extremely important.”
And while we already love the idea of following a Ketogenic diet, we are wondering whether it is only for the non-vegetarians as it is a difficult terrain for vegetarians. That’s when Karishma came to our rescue, and informed us that the best way to follow Keto is actually by having a high-fat good vegetarian diet. Meat is only supposed to be a condiment, so load up on vegetables, dairy, nuts and seeds.
She further informed us, “One needs to identify the carbs they are eating. If the food item is 100 grams in weight and has 100 grams of carbs, you must avoid it. But if you are eating spinach, it has 1 gram of carbs per 100 grams, making it an ideal vegetable. So it is important to focus on foods that are high in nutrition and low in carbs.” Karishma also shared that fat loss is more important than weight loss because the weight that we are carrying is also essential for our body.
