Even though adoption has become normal than before over the years, the label of being a taboo attached to it is yet to be removed. It is a word that is spoken behind the closed doors in India and for some, who are willing to embrace parenthood via adoption find societal stigma as an obstacle. Fortunately, some celebrities like Sushmita Sen, Raveena Tandon Thadani, Sunny Leone and Mandira Bedi have taken a step to prove that biological or adopted are just mere words and there is no stigma attached to the latter. At the age of 21, Raveena became a role model for millions when she had decided to adopt two baby girls, Chhaya and Pooja, daughters of a distant cousin who had died when the kids were young. Raveena Tandon Thadani had not only made a name for herself with the well-acclaimed performances on-screen but also won the hearts of millions with her decision to adopt. Raveena was just 21 when she had adopted Chhaya and Pooja, and the actress believed that they had grown together. Raveena found sisters in Chhaya and Pooja, and discussed the mistakes she had made with them so that they don’t make the same in their lives. Post her marriage with Anil Thadani, Raveena’s family was completed with the arrival of her biological kids, Ranbirvardhan Thadani and Rasha Thadani.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Raveena Tandon Thadani spoke about how motherhood changed her, the fulfilling experience of being a mother and her best memories. When asked, “What are some of your best memories of motherhood?” Raveena said, “There are plenty of them, actually! Be it getting Pooja and Chaya home, getting them married, being witness to the birth of their babies. Then, of course, I was blessed with my two babies Rasha and Ranbirvardhan which enhanced my choices as a mother. I have become more compassionate as a person and at the same time, I feel like this powerful woman because I am like this shield to my kids. In addition, being a mom to 4 just creates this aura of oozing positivity around me.”
Speaking about her motherhood experience since she had adopted her daughters at a very young age, Raveena Tandon Thadani remarked, “I didn’t like how their guardian would behave with them and some instinct in me pushed me to take them to my home. There was something about them that made me feel that me being a 21-year-old doesn’t matter. I can say it has been the best decision of my life. I cherish each and every moment I have shared with them, from taking them into my arms for the first time to walking them down the aisle.” (Also Read: Viaan Raj Kundra And Samisha Shetty Kundra Celebrate Dadaji's Birthday, Shilpa Shetty Gives Glimpses)
Revealing how fulfilling is the experience of motherhood and calling herself ‘blessed’, Raveena Tandon Thadani stated, “It's an unparalleled experience, indeed. I have always felt one does not need to be a multi-billionaire to make a difference to someone’s life but just have a kind heart and doing your two bits. Back then people were apprehensive on my decision and said no one would want to marry someone with this ‘baggage.’ But as they say, what is destined to be, it will happen. I couldn’t have been more blessed. They still write letters to me to show their love. I would encourage everyone, even single moms, to come forward and do the same. The process is a lot smoother now as compared to how it was back then.”
Since the B-town is back in action post the lockdown and most celebs have resumed work, Raveena Tandon Thandani too, had jetted off to Himachal Pradesh for the shoot of her film sometime back. Looks like Raveena is missing ‘her babies and babies’ babies’ as the actress had posted an array of pictures and videos of her little ones. Reminiscing the beautiful moments of her babies and grandchildren, Raveena had captioned her post as “Missing my babies, and my babies’ babies.” (Also Read: Parzaan Dastur Of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' Ties The Knot With His Fiancee, Delna Shroff, Shares Pictures)
