The iconic Bollywood actress, Raveena Tandon is termed as one of the biggest actresses of the 90s. At a time when actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Manisha Koirala, and so many stunning females were leading the industry, Raveena was renowned for playing strong characters. She was one of the highest-paid actresses of the 90s era. The stunning actress made her acting debut with the film, Patthar Ke Phool (1991), and since then, she has never looked back and won numerous awards in her illustrious career.
The evergreen actress, Raveena Tandon has won a series of Filmfare awards for her various movie performances. But it was in April 2023 when the actress was bestowed with the prestigious Padma Shri award for her immense contribution to Hindi cinema. The esteemed award cemented her legacy in the Indian film industry to a notch higher. Raveena received the fourth highest civilian award, Padma Shri, from the honourable President of India, Draupadi Murmu, at Rashprati Bhavan in Delhi.
For the unversed, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif once revealed in an interview that Raveena Tandon is his favourite actress. After some years of his revelation, during the 1991 Kargil War, some Indian soldiers wrote, “From Raveena Tandon To Nawaz Sharif”, on some bombs which were supposed to be used in the war against Pakistan. The pictures of the cheeky dig taken by Indian soldiers received a big thumbs up from the Indian citizens as they lauded the hilarious message. A picture of one of the bombs also leaked in the media and was all over the newspapers back in 1991.
After some years of the 1991 Kargil War, in a throwback interview with the Hindustan Times’ managing editor, Sonal Kalra, Raveena talked about the same incident. The actress shared her views on her name being written atop the bombs which were used in the 1991 Kargil War. Raveena revealed that she saw the picture much later and admitted that she would advise the whole world to opt for negotiations before going all out for wars. However, Raveena admitted that if she needed to stand on the borders to safeguard her country, she would do it with all her heart and courage.
Talking about Raveena Tandon’s personal life, she is enjoying a happy married life with her husband, Anil Thadani. The couple got married back on February 22, 2004, in a lavish wedding in Udaipur palace. Anil and Raveena tied the marital knot as per Punjabi-Khatri and Sindhi-style weddings. The couple welcomed two kids, Rasha and Ranbir. However, Raveena also has two adopted daughters, Chhaya and Pooja.
