Ratna Pathak and Naseeruddin Shah can certainly be hailed as the power couple of their time. For the unversed, Naseeruddin was earlier married to Manara Sikri. The actor has a daughter, Heeba, from his first marriage. However, years later, the duo parted ways. Later, Naseeruddin Shah met the love of his life, Ratna Pathak, and they tied the knot in 1982. The duo has two sons, Imaad and Vivaan. Now, in a recent interview, Ratna revealed whether she was bothered by Naseeruddin's past relationships or first marriage.
In a recent interview with Humans Of Bombay, Ratna Pathak recalled the time when she met Naseeruddin for the first time. The veteran actress said that they met each other during a play in which they worked together. Talking more about how they fell in love with each other, Ratna said that soon after their meeting, they both realised that they wanted to be together. The actress shared that both her and Naseer's mindsets were to try this out rather than asking too many questions. Sharing how it was a total fluke, Ratna recalled:
"We're doing a play together. It was precisely called ‘Sambhog Se Sannyas Tak.’ We pretty soon realised we want to be together. We were stupid, we didn’t ask too many questions. Today people ask all the right questions. We were like, ‘This sounds good, let’s just try.’ and it worked out. It was total fluke. Can’t claim any credit for it. It just worked out.”

Further, in the interview, Ratna Pathak mentioned whether she was ever concerned about Naseeruddin's first marriage or past relationships. The veteran actress shared that she had never been concerned about the same. Talking more about it, Ratna said that when she met Naseeruddin, he was long separated from his ex-wife and had many relationships. Mentioning that, as long as she is the last one, she is okay, Ratna stated:
"I was not concerned with his past life, I was in love. He had been separated from his ex-wife for a very long time. Meanwhile, he had many other relationships. That also seemed like history. Then I arrived, as long as I am the last, I am okay.”

Going further in the interview, Ratna Pathak talked about her unconventional marital life. The actress recalled that post their marriage, they headed for their honeymoon, and soon after they came back, Naseeruddin started shooting for his film. For which the actress used to pass days without the slightest hint about her actor husband. Speaking along the same lines, Ratna said:
"It was nothing like the married-life number that I saw with my other friends. A week later after our marriage, we went to the honeymoon and came back in between, Naseer started shooting for Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. I didn’t see him for days on end. That was the most amazingly difficult shoot. Naseer would go and come back after three days and I didn’t even know if he was alive, dead or run away with somebody (laughs). It was crazy that time.”
On her appearance on Twinkle Khanna‘s YouTube talk show, The Icons, Ratna Pathak opened up about her marital life with Naseeruddin. The actress also mentioned one piece of advice she received from her husband that helped her to ease her relationship with the actor's daughter from his first marriage. Ratna shared that Naseer told her not to give too much name to any relationship and to keep it flexible. The veteran actress also mentioned that the advice actually helped her bond with Heeba develop well.
