Ratan Rajput created quite a flurry when the launch of her real-life Swayamvar show, ‘Ratan Ka Rishta’ was confirmed. If you recall, a pioneer of sorts in this niche was Rakhi Sawant. However, Rakhi had refused to marry her Swayamvar’s winner. This had generated a lot of controversy. Unlike Rakhi, Ratan presented a more demure, next-door-girl persona. It was largely believed that unlike Rakhi Sawant, Ratan would tie the knot with her Swayamvar’s winner. However, to the shock of most folks, Ratan too seems to have gone the Rakhi Sawant way!
Ratan’s Latest Denial
When contacted regarding her impending marriage to Abhinav, Ratan appeared quite defensive. She emphasized that her career and the new house she has just bought are keeping her busy. She retaliated that chances of her marriage this year are highly unlikely! She emphasized that she loved Abhinav and he definitely cared for her. However, Ratan also said that while Abhinav seems ready for marriage, she isn't ready to commit now.

‘Ratan Ka Rishta’ had engaged a lot of TV viewership and TRPs went through the roof. Eventually, a winner was declared. The lucky man was the Delhi-based, Abhinav Sharma. Ratan and Abhinav got engaged in front of TV audiences across the nation. There was some speculation about whether Ratan would actually marry Abhinav. While most believed she would, some people thought otherwise. The naysayers were essentially those who were familiar with Ratan’s real life persona.
Ratan Rajput: More Than What Meets The Eye?
Ratan Rajput started her TV career, playing the typical ‘gaon ki gori’ role in her debut show. ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’. Her acting skills and the ease with which she exuded simplicity was largely appreciated. Soon, her character’s name in the serial, ‘Laali’ became a household name. However, a slightly different picture emerged when Ratan started appearing for interviews and tabloids went digging into her life.
It surfaced that she wasn’t at all like the docile character she portrayed onscreen. On the contrary, Ratan emerged as a rather bindaas girl. She admitted having climbed the walls of auditoriums to catch a glimpse of musical/theatrical performances!

Now, with Veena Malik’s Swayamvar unrolling, are we going to witness another broken promise followed by a series of denials? Veena Malik has proved worthy of being a typical drama queen. Her antics have always been controversial. Some people have even dubbed her as the “Rakhi Sawant of Pakistan”.
