The newest addition to the list was Hate Story 2 actress, Surveen Chawla. From flaunting her baby bump in shows and events to her gorgeous maternity shoots, Surveen had indeed raised the bar of celebrity glamour quotient high. And when she had posted her godh bharai (baby shower) pictures on social media, we couldn’t help but drool over how beautiful she was looking! Dressed in a yellow saree, pink blouse, heavy pearl necklace and jhumkas for the traditional ceremony and a sexy orange off-shoulder maternity dress which she teamed-up with similar jhumkas for the post-godh bharai bash, the then-soon-to-be mommy looked a million dollars!
And February 20, 2019, was no different! At the Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards 2019, Surveen Chawla made heads turn in a custom-made Rebecca Dewan Sapphire raglan sleeve trail gown to flaunt her baby bump and she had posted an ‘oh-so-gorgeous’ photograph on her social media handle. She had captioned the same as, “Electric yet Simplistic but Dramatic still Romantic...Magnetic is Characteristic when it’s Minimalistic though Artistic...#Realistic For #nykaafeminabeautyawards2019”.
On April 19, 2019, Surveen Chawla finally held her little angel in her arms for the first time and named her Eva. In her first interview with Pinkvilla, post giving birth to Eva, Surveen recalled her mini-encounter with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone at the red carpet of Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards 2019. Remembering the conversation, Surveen reminisced, “It was a small moment where I had just seen Gully Boy and loved his performance and the movie, so I was just telling him how wonderful he was. With her glamorous avatars on the red carpet flaunting her baby bump, Surveen Chawla had defied body image myths and notions during her pregnancy. When asked if it was a conscious decision, Surveen retorted, “I was clear that I don't want to consciously get conscious of the fact that I am pregnant, and that I must hide the bump and that I must wear loose clothes, and my body will look a certain way. In fact, there was only one thing that I would tell my stylist please don't get me loose fitted clothes, I want to flaunt the bump, let it be as sexy as it has always been. I don't want to suddenly change the way I dress because motherhood is on its way. That was the only thing and also I feel it is one thing which one shouldn't hide behind a piece of fabric and only flaunt.”
Revealing when will we see her back on-screen, Surveen was quoted as saying, “Right now, I have Eva to take care of but you will see me back as soon as Sacred Games 2 gets launched. Till then, my daughter is going to take all my time now and then it is going to be back to the grind.” Expressing how the last week went by with the arrival of little Eva in their lives, Surveen stated, “It hasn’t hit me completely. I am feeling strange, thinking and feeling the way I am doing... it almost feels like... you know.... sometimes people say that a new ‘you’ will be born when you give birth, this almost feels like that. I am feeling things which were alien to me. Just feeling them is surreal, in a good way, of course.
