Bollywood actor, Ranbir Kapoor is promoting his upcoming movie, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, in full throttle with his co-star, Shraddha Kapoor and their film’s director, Luv Ranjan. The trailer of the film has already received positive responses from the audiences, and songs, Tere Pyaar Mein and Pyar Hota Kayi Baar, are already topping the charts. Recently, the team of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar was spotted promoting their film in Chandigarh, and it was Ranbir, whose statements about his wife, Alia Bhatt, winning the Best Actress Award at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards ceremony stole the limelight.
During the promotions of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranbir Kapoor was asked about his reaction to his wife, Alia Bhatt, winning the Best Actress Award at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards for her impressive performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Revealing his thoughts about the same, Ranbir admitted that he was super-happy that Alia won the award because she totally deserved it. The doting husband also added that Alia’s performance as 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is one of the finest performances ever in Indian cinema. He said:
"I am really excited that Alia won the award because she was truly deserving in her performance in Gangubai (Gangubai Kathiawadi). I think that was one of the finest performances ever."

In the same conversation with a reporter, Ranbir Kapoor also talked about him being bestowed with the Best Actor Award for his performance in Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva. However, the actor admitted that he doesn’t think that he totally deserved it as per him, his performance in the film wasn’t a massive one, which deserves an award as big as this. In the end, Ranbir thanked the jury at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards for giving him the prestigious award and admitted that it was a massive motivation for him. He stated:
"Sabse pehle toh I am very grateful ki mujhe ye sammaan diya. I don’t think I fully deserved it for Brahmastra. Vo bahut badi koi acting performance nahi thi. But jab bhi koi award aata hain you feel great. Par acha hain jab koi award milta hain toh ek thapki milti hain ki you know aapne theek-thaak kaam kiya."
