Recently, Alia Bhatt had admitted that she had pleaded Ayan Mukerji to let her work with Ranbir Kapoor. She had revealed, "The idea for Brahmastra was conceived long back when Ayan had just done Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. I wanted to work with him and I have always wanted to work with Ranbir as well. I pleaded to Ayan that please cast me with him."

Ranbir and Alia were recently also spotted outside an architecture and design firm, and soon speculations were rife that they are going to live-in together soon. However, Alia Bhatt refuted such reports later and was quoted as saying, "Nothing of the sort. It is a place I’ve bought as my office space. Yes, I’ve started my own production house. I’ve named it Eternal Sunshine Productions. Do you like it?"
In a recent interview with the Firstpost, Alia Bhatt spoke at length about beau, Ranbir Kapoor’s talent and how he is just like her when it comes to acting, “With Ranbir, it is a completely different experience because I have always admired him. He is my favourite actor since he made his debut. He will always remain my favourite because he is so honest and effortless. When I set to work with him, I was thinking that I will understand his process of acting, but there’s no process. He is like me, he acts in front of the camera, and suddenly off camera, he is seen eating chocolates, or chatting, wanting to know what is the gossip for the day. A close family friend of the Kapoors had commented on Alia and Ranbir's relationship with a media house. It was reported, “She (Alia) has been welcomed into the family by everyone. So it’s not just Ranbir who loves Alia. His parents, sister and the rest of the sprawling Kapoor family adore her too. Marriage is on Ranbir’s mind for sure and he will get into it happily this time. The couple will wait until Rishi Kapoor’s recovery before discussing a date for marriage.”
Speaking about her career and marriage, Alia had once stated in an interview, “I would never fear getting married thinking my career might end. I will settle down if I want to. One should be able to have a career, regardless of being married or not.” The actress was all praises for her beau in an interview. Shedding light on the same, she had stated, “It’s been great working with him. It’s exactly how I imagined it to be. I’ve always thought that Ranbir is such an amazing actor. I’m at times shocked at how chilled out he is (laughs).”
Ranbir Kapoor has also been vocal about his relationship with Alia Bhatt. Last year, commenting on the idea of love, he had said, "Falling in love is the greatest thing in the world. When you fall in love, everything is great. Water tastes like sherbet and you seem like you are Uma Thurman. You feel great. Who doesn’t wanna be in love?"
