Ram Charan and his wife, Upasana Kamineni are all set to embark on the new journey of their lives. i.e., parenthood. They have been married for 11 years. And now, the madly-in-love duo is expecting their first child. As per reports, Upasana is due in July 2023. Now, as the couple is counting the days to meet their little one, Upasana opened up about certain unknown anecdotes about her pregnancy journey.
In an interview with the ETimes, Upasana Kamineni revealed she is extremely grateful for her soon-to-be-born child and also the universe for giving her this beautiful opportunity of soon embracing motherhood. She mentioned, "Our baby has been so cooperative and didn’t bother me too much during my travels." She was also asked about Ram Charan's reaction when he learned about her pregnancy. To this, Upasana talked about Ram's calm personality and said:
"When I told him that I think I am pregnant, he said, ‘Don’t get too excited, calm down’. Once we repeated the tests and we knew that all the tests were fine, that’s when he celebrated. That is what I admire the most about Ram, he’s the calming factor in my life, while I am the more excited one. I love to express my feelings; he does it calmly in his own way."

In the same conversation, Upasana revealed the importance of living along with the grandparents during a child's upbringing, according to her and Ram. Elaborating more on it, she mentioned that the soon-to-be-parents would move in with Ram's parents after they embrace parenthood and will raise their kid over there. Upasana shared:
"A lot of couples move out when they have kids, but we are doing just the opposite. We are living by ourselves now, but we are going to move back with Ram’s parents. We both were brought up in a setup where our grandparents played a huge role in our upbringing. We don’t want to deprive our child of that joy. So, we have taken a conscious call to move back with his parents and raise the child together. Also, we both are working professionals and having their support is extremely important."
For the unversed, Upasana is the granddaughter of Apollo Hospitals Group founder, Prathap C Reddy. She has a beautiful bond with her granddad. Thus, when it came to deciding whether she should freeze her eggs, she revealed that it was her grandfather, who was keen about this process. However, Upasana is also happy about her decision. She added:
"My grandfather was very keen, and we were working with a doctor back then who had advised me to do that. My family was also supportive of the decision. When we went to the USA, we saw that people were not doing it just for fertility treatment, we saw a lot of working professionals doing it. We saw a lot of 20-year-olds doing it as well. When asked about it, I was told that their company pays for it and that it’s part of their insurance. It is a progressive thought, and I am so happy that we did it."

At the end of the conversation, Upasana revealed the kind of preparations she and her darling hubby, Ram have been doing ahead of embracing parenthood. She mentioned having a customised wallpaper about the Amrabad Tiger Reserve in the child's room along with a baby’s crib prepared by a charity in Hyderabad with the largest number of HIV+ women under one roof. The doting mom-to-be revealed that these would be made with organic fabrics, and the motifs on them also have a meaning and a story. Upasana also shared her excitement and how she hopes Ram would also take part in parenting. She quipped:
"We are all very excited, nervous and a bit anxious too. Ram is my go-to man when I am hyper or having anxiety attacks. He calmly sits me down and says, ‘Okay, let’s figure it out’. I am sure Ram will take an active part in parenting."
