In 2014, Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan had broken the hearts of millions when they had announced their separation. Ending their 14 years of marriage, Hrithik and Sussanne had let bygones be bygones and had maintained a healthy relationship. Not only they are co-parenting their sons, Hrehaan Roshan and Hridhaan Roshan but are also each other’s best friend and confidante.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Sussanne Khan had decided to temporarily move-in with her ex-husband, Hrithik Roshan at his Juhu residence so that their children don’t feel ‘disconnected indefinitely’ to either of them. Announcing that Sussanne had voluntarily decided to temporarily move-in to his house to co-parent their kids, Hrithik had spoken about how important it is for families to stick together during this difficult phase. In early 2019, Hrithik Roshan had broken the news through an Instagram post that his father, Rakesh Roshan was diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat. On Hrithik’s post, Sussanne Khan had expressed her love and wishes for her ex-father-in-law. Sussanne had commented on the post, “He is the stronger than any superhero all will go smoothly” followed by heart emojis. Coming back to Hrithik Roshan’s post when he had announced Sussanne Khan’s decision of moving in with him, he had posted a picture of her, chilling on a couch in his living room. Setting major goals for separated partners to co-parent their kids amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, Hrithik and Sussanne had found a way to ensure that Hrehaan Roshan and Hridhaan Roshan don’t feel ‘disconnected’ from either of them. Acknowledging how Sussanne had graciously volunteered to temporarily move-in to his home, Hrithik had penned down a beautiful note. Hrithik had written, “It is unimaginable for me, as a parent, to think of having to be separated from my children at a time when the country is practising lockdowns.”
Speaking of the meaning of ‘coming together’ for parents sharing the custody of their kids, Hrithik Roshan’s note had continued, “It is heartwarming to see the world come together as one in this time of deep uncertainty and possibility of months of social distancing and potential lockdowns for several weeks perhaps. While the world talks about humanity coming together, I think it represents more than just an idea especially for parents sharing custody of their kids. How to keep their kids close to them without infringing on the right of the other who also has an equal right to be with his/her children.”
Thanking Sussanne Khan for temporarily moving out of her home to co-parent their kids, Hrithik Roshan’s note ended with “This is a picture of dear Sussanne (my ex wife), who has graciously volunteered to temporarily move out of her home so that our children are not disconnected indefinitely from either one of us.
