Rajkummar Rao Opens Up On Dealing With Insecurities And Self-Image Issues, 'I'd Want My Child To..'

Rajkummar Rao is a popular Bollywood actor, who has never shied away from speaking the truth. He has often spoken about his insecurities, self-image, vulnerability and more. However, recently, the Newton actor opened up about the values he wants to teach his child. For the unversed, Rajkummar Rao and his wife, Patralekhaa welcomed a baby girl, Parvati, in November 2025.

Rajkummar Rao shares an advice he would give to his daughter

Currently, the actor, Rajkummar Rao is associated with the popular brand, Traya. During a conversation of the same, Rajkummar Rao opened up about dealing with insecurities after facing hair fall. He also spoke about self-image and vulnerability. Further, when he was asked to give advice to his daughter, Parvati, the Bhool Chuk Maaf actor shared he would want Parvati to make choices for herself and not to seek external validation. According to the Times Of India, he was quoted saying:

"I’d say: make choices for yourself, not for any validation. Confidence comes from doing the work, whether that’s learning empathy, learning a craft, or looking after your health. I’d want my child to know that feeling good about themselves is not about fitting in a mold but about being honest about what they need and acting on it."

Rajkummar Rao opens up about dealing with vulnerability

During the same conversation, Rajkummar Rao also mentioned that vulnerability is not a weakness. He shared that one should take care of themself and understand that prioritising yourself is not being selfish. In his words:

"Vulnerability is not a weakness. Taking care of your body and mind is a responsibility, not vanity. And prioritising yourself is not selfishness but self-care. That’s the legacy I’d like to pass on."

For those who do not know, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa crossed paths in 2010, while working on the film, CityLights. While working on the film, their on-screen bond and chemistry soon blossomed into real romance. After dating for a while, the couple tied the knot in November 2021, in an intimate wedding ceremony. Years later, in July 2025, the two took to their Instagram handle to announce their pregnancy with a sweet and special post.

A few months after the announcement, Rajkummar and Patralekhaa welcomed their little angel, a baby girl in November 2025. Reportedly, their little daughter was born on their fourth wedding anniversary. A few months ago, Rajkummar and his wife revealed the name of their baby girl- Parvati Paul Rao. The couple had called her their "greatest blessing."

Talking about Rajkummar Rao’s work, he was last seen in the film, Maalik. He also did a cameo in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. The much-loved actor will next be seen in the film, Toaster. Recently, he spoke about the lineup of his films and shared that Toaster is close to his heart as his wife is producing the movie for the first time. He had shared:

"I’m very excited about our lineup of films. Toaster is especially close to my heart, Patralekhaa and I have worked on it closely; it’s her first time producing. At this stage, I’m drawn to stories that challenge me and feel honest. I’m looking for characters with depth and narratives that say something meaningful. I want to build a body of work that’s diverse, impactful, and creatively fulfilling."
