Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleIt has already been ten days since the horrific death of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, and the case continues to dominate headlines across the nation. Amid the public outcry, the 26-year-old's alleged murder has drawn an emotional reaction from the family of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, whose honeymoon killing shocked the country last year.
Raja's grieving mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, has now compared the two cases, calling the prime accused, Siya Goyal, the 'younger version' of her own daughter-in-law, Sonam Raghuvanshi.
Just over a year after Raja Raghuvanshi's Meghalaya Honeymoon murder, his bereaved mother, Uma, cannot help but find eerie similarities between that case and the Pune murder of Ketan Agarwal. Uma alleged that Siya Goyal followed a similar pattern to Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is facing trial in Raja's murder case and is currently out on conditional bail. Now, Siya, too, is facing similar charges of a conspired plot to kill Ketan.
Just like Sonam Raghuvanshi had planned and woven a story, Siya Goyal too allegedly conspired and pushed her fiancé off the cliff. Becoming emotional, Uma added that she could understand the pain of Ketan's family because she is still struggling to cope with the loss of her own son. Uma said:
"I can understand the pain of that mother as I have still not been able to recover from the pain of losing my son."
Commenting on Sonam Raghuvanshi being granted conditional bail, Uma alleged that it is sending a wrong message to people like Siya Goyal. Given the similarity of the cases, Uma went on to claim that Siya may have been influenced by Sonam's case, saying, "She became 'choti Sonam'." She said:
"Her bail is sending a wrong message to the society. The accused may think that they, too, will easily come out of prison after committing such heinous crimes."

Uma also urged Ketan Agarwal's family not to lose hope in their fight for justice and called for the harshest punishment for those accused in such cases. "If girls do not want to get married, then don't. But please don't kill someone else's son. Talk to your parents. You don't have the right to kill anyone," said Uma. She also argued that delays in punishing criminals like Sonam may encourage similar crimes.
Uma Raghuvanshi also demanded the harshest punishment for those accused in high-profile murder cases, saying delays in justice only embolden others. Referring to her daughter-in-law Sonam Raghuvanshi, Pune murder accused Siya Goyal, and the infamous Meerut 'blue drum' murder accused, Muskan Rastogi, Uma says all three women deserve the death penalty. She said:
"Sonam, Muskan, and Siya all deserve the death penalty. She likely did it after seeing Sonam, because Sonam is walking free today. How could she get out of jail in just 11 months? Why isn't her case being heard? Why isn't she being put back in prison? Seeing how Sonam was released within a year, she probably thought she could get away with it too."

The honeymoon murder case was one of the most shocking murder mysteries in India last year. Raja Raghhuvanshi, a 29-year-old transport businessman from Indore, was allegedly thrown into a deep gorge during his honeymoon. Raja had married Sonam Raghuvanshi on May 11, and the couple travelled to Meghalaya just days later. On May 23, 2025, he went missing while sightseeing, and his mutilated body was recovered from a deep gorge near Sohra on June 2, 2025.

Police alleged that Sonam herself was the mastermind of a pre-planned murder plot, which included the Meghalaya honeymoon as part of the ploy. Sonam, her alleged lover, Raj Kushwaha, and three hired men were charged with conspiring to murder. Investigators claimed Raja was attacked with sharp-edged weapons before his body was dumped into the gorge. Sonam and several co-accused were arrested in connection with the case. While she was later granted conditional bail over procedural issues, the trial is still ongoing, with Raja's family continuing to seek justice.

Police allege that 26-year-old Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal was murdered on June 18 during a trek at Lohagad Fort. According to investigators, his fiancée Siya Goyal, 20, and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary, 22, conspired to push him into a gorge after Siya allegedly decided she no longer wanted to go ahead with their lavish 17 crore wedding, which had been scheduled for November, 2026. Both accused remain in police custody as the investigation continues.
